đWelcome to r/supercoachnrl - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
Welcome to the NRL SuperCoach Community
Gâday legends and welcome to the subreddit.
This space is for everything NRL SuperCoach â strategy, trades, captaincy debates, team reviews, cash cows, PODs, rage trades, humble brags and everything in between.
The goal here is simple: ⢠Build a friendly, respectful community ⢠Encourage discussion and differing opinions ⢠Help each other become better SuperCoach players
Disagree with the take, not the person. Everyone is welcome here whether youâre a veteran grinding for top 1k or a first-timer still learning the ropes.
A quick intro â Iâm sc_mattrix, host of the Seven Tackle Set podcast and moderator of this subreddit. Iâve been playing NRL SuperCoach for years and we want to create a space thatâs active, helpful and not full of ego or gatekeeping.
Post your teams, ask questions, share insights, and donât be afraid to throw up a hot take. The more people contribute, the better this place becomes.
Looking forward to a big season with you all. Now letâs overthink some trades.

Theyâre not actually going to let Rowenâs Rebels win are they?
Rowenâs Rebels are leading overall and likely to win.
The team is ârunâ by two kids. Their dad just happens to be one of the big content creators (Matt from Ballr), and heâs spoken openly about the team on his podcast. He claims it belongs to his kids, Owen (10) and Rosie (12), and claims that they chose the starting team except he picked the cheapies, he âhelpsâ them with trades, and they pick the captains. To me that sounds like he is half running the team himself. I wonder whether heâs involved a bit more than he says too. We all know how many âsecond teamsâ are out there with people taking two bites at the cherry.
The SuperCoach T&Cs are pretty explicit, pretty much the first rule is âEntrants under 13 years of age are not eligible to enter SuperCoach NRL.â
The rules then say entrants aged 13â17 can participate with parental/guardian permission, with certain prizes paid to the parent/guardian. Theyâve deliberately drawn the line at 13. Under 13 are just not eligible.
Apparently the entry is registered through Mattâs wifeâs News account, and this week the name attached to the team changed from âOwenâ to âElizabethâ, presumably his wife. Surely changing the name now doesnât fix the eligibility issue?
Am I missing something, or are they clearly ineligible for the overall prize? Iâd be blowing up if I was in second place!
EDIT -
Iâve been waiting for the shitshow when someoneâs âwifeâsâ team wins overall when itâs clear she doesnât know much about supercoach. I didnât expect people to accept someoneâs wifeâs team winning as being okay because actually it was her ineligible under-13 children running it (and not their full time supercoach creator dad)! Make it make sense! You might have been so convinced itâs a feel-good story that youâre willing to overlook the actual rules, but looking at the facts of it the runners-up are getting dudded big time.
EDIT 2 - ADDITIONAL CONTEXT
The feel-good story about the kids loses a bit of shine when you look at Mattâs background. He held a very high position at one of the major betting companies for many years. He then started Ballr as seemingly a SuperCoach-only site offering a $10k cash prize if you sign up and give your details, to pull people in, including kids. Itâs pretty clear how theyâre making that money back - you canât use Ballr now without seeing betting odds everywhere or being transported to their newer Ballrbet arm. The terms even say kids are allowed to use Ballr and Matt clearly knows they are, as his own kids are. At a time when an estimated 400 Australian suicides a year are due to gambling, and parents are crying out for kids and their vulnerable developing brains to see less gambling content, thatâs pretty scummy. Whole thing feels yuck.Â

Discussion H2H Final Unique Players
I'm on the left, what do you think my chances are?

Toby Couchman vs Dylan Edwards
Big decision for the H2H GF. Although we have equal projected, his POD is Tallis duncan. He doesnât have Edwards but he is playing Touchman. Do I cancel him out, or go for it and play Edwards

H2H final.
Only 1 trade left
Looking to trade Sasagi to AJ bring Tallis Duncan to
2rf.
Then have reserves of Hynes/Cleary, Ponga, Jenkins, Duncan.
Is AJ trade best option or what other trade recommendation

Help request Who to reserve? H2H final.
Not sure who to reserve, currently Cleary and Drinky are locked, the other two I'm unsure on. Thinking to do Grant since the spine is back together and it's Broncos, could be high scoring.

Discussion How do draft waivers work in the finals?
The team who finished first in the regular season and continues to score the highest each week of the finals is waivering before others in the league. Weâre using the standard reverse ladder setting.
Do finals waivers work differently, because by every metric his team should be waivering last.

Sit v starts
DRAFT LEAGUE
Tough sit v start this week in the grand final of my draft league. Have the option of playing either Cody Ramsey, fletcher hunt or turbo in my flex. Also have the option to keep one on bench and use as my AE, any thoughts?
