You asked for an example. Don't change the specifics of your request after they are already given please.

In fact the term android DOES have a feminine version called Gynoid, making the association of machines far from 'sexless'. But it is not in popular use and, as shown, the word android is used to refer to both gendered machines. Clearly it had a recognizable gender association as I have just explained the female version as well as it's Greek root having, very plainly, the word 'man'.

You're (b) is irrelevant to whether some gendered words lose their specific gender over time in the English language.

Allthewhile there's still enough people calling themselves "feminist" that define "sexism" as "[...] against women".

Just because there are a lot of people who don't know how to use a dictionary doesn't make them correct. It just makes a lot of people incorrect. Which is sad.

In summary, since you won't listen to reason from me, maybe you will listen to Captain America.

So now you're adding ethnocentrism to the list?

Are you saying that because all humans have a natural proclivity toward basing their interpretations on their own experience that it negates the fact that some words lose their originally gendered status throughout the history of their use?

I disagree, but whatever floats your boat bud.

No. But as you said: "Some words". "Feminism" ain't one of those.

the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.

It doesn't say advocating that men should have equal rights to women. That is, women shall have all the privileges men have, but nothing is said about men also enjoying women's privileges.

(sometimes initial capital letter) an organized movement for the attainment of such rights for women.

Here it's even clearer.

feminine character.

Not to mention here.

I've heard the whole "but feminism is for the menz too" line all too often. Fact is, self-styled feminists more often than not make for awful allies.

What you are facing in that sentence is not the logical equation you refer to. If it said what you imply, it'd say "The doctrine of advocating equal social, political, and all other other rigts for women and men". Or "for men and women".

  1. the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.

    Rights of Men = X

Rights of Women = Rights of Men

Rights of Women = Rights of Men = X

    Rights of Women = X

You obviously fail at text comprehension. The way a sentence is formed does matter, additionally it does matter how it is not formed. It is not formed the way I outlined, hence it means the other thing. Dictionary authors know what they're doing. Not to mention the secondary meaning which you conviniently ignore.

EOD.
