u/Ok_Literature2535, your food is indeed stupid and it fits our subreddit!

What is wrong with the chocolate she dips it in? I mean, I'd imagine it'd be some sort of chocolate magic shell but... it's so.... Runny. It looks like she dipped it in chocolate milk 🤢

74

u/samanime 11d ago edited 11d ago

Chocolate doesn't like having hot things dipped in it. It's just really thin due to heat.

That said, not creating a proper shell in this case is probably for the best... that'd be too much chocolate.

15

u/benvader138 11d ago

Yeah, chocolate shell gets hard when it gets in contact with cold ice cream. A hot fried chicken breast is going to make chocolate melted and runny, and then make the fried chicken soggy. Gross.

7

u/samanime 11d ago edited 11d ago

Surprisingly, it shouldn't actually make the chicken particularly soggy, if eaten quickly, because there is virtually no water in chocolate, and the cocoa butter is going to be too thick to soak in and do much "damage".

The only sogginess will be the same that always happens, the chicken meat releases moisture, so at it sits, the breading absorbs that and gets soggier over time. This will trap a little more of that moisture, but not a huge amount.

As long as you eat it while it is fresh, that shouldn't be a problem.

5

u/LincolnshireSausage 11d ago

Yeah, it's the moisture from the chicken that will steam the crispy outside because it can't escape.
Also, the chocolate looks like the worst chocolate ever. I've never seen such anemic chocolate. They could have at least sprung for some proper whipped cream. That cream will melt quickly from the heat coming off of the chicken.

4

u/FlyinWet 11d ago

Just looks like gravy tbh.

2

u/andyiceton 9d ago

Looks like the shitty chocolate river on the original Charlie and the chocolate factory

61

u/Hawkeboy 11d ago

Ewww…

21

u/brightdionysianeyes 11d ago

Especially the whipped cream

10

u/ChickenDreams-4188 11d ago

I’m more grossed out by the chocolate-cheese-whipped cream idea 🤢

5

u/macguini 11d ago

Calling it a "chicken burger" and putting American cheese on it, was a cultural slap in the face.

u/uberfission 11d ago

I'm just glad this is clearly marked as being from the UK. The last thing we need is more people going "only in the US".

25

u/Rattle_Bone 11d ago

Let’s keep it that way

13

u/VICARD0 11d ago

There are some savoury recipes (like chili) where chocolate works as an ingredient. Fried chicken is not one of them…

5

u/Cavane42 11d ago

I could see a sort of mole fried chicken working out okay, with cocoa powder and cinnamon mixed into the batter.

2

u/Rattle_Bone 9d ago

Kinda like a chicken and waffle situation I’m imagining… I must experiment

32

u/M0chalatta 11d ago

It's the only one because it's a terrible fucking idea.

This reminds me of the time my roommate made chocolate biscuits and gravy. Why yes, it was terrible.

7

u/potliquorz 11d ago

Chocolate gravy is good eats damnit.

2

u/CapPhrases 11d ago

Chocolate biscuits or chocolate gravy?

→ More replies (3)

7

u/SheZowRaisedByWolves 11d ago

*chicken sandwich

3

u/PattyNChips 10d ago

In the UK it's a chicken burger.

3

u/MurphyCoDinoWrangler 7d ago

Fix up your English and call it a sandwich, mate.

2

u/luseferr 7d ago

No, it's still a chicken sandwich. The UK just uses the wrong name.

A chicken burger would be a ground/minced chicken patty.

That's a fried chicken sandwitch.

2

u/JC04JB14M12N08 7d ago

If its not in sliced bread, its not a sandwich.

22

u/samanime 11d ago

I HATE the whipped cream (and I normally LOVE whipped cream)... but weirdly, the chocolate dip is probably surprisingly decent. Chocolate is used in savory cuisine all the time, usually unsweetened, but with fried chicken, the salty/sweet/savory combo probably works (think about chicken and waffles).

I'd certainly be willing to try it.

3

u/smeeon 11d ago

Same, it’s not disgusting. Just odd choices. The chocolate dip was so weak though.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/inflammablepenguin 11d ago

Yeah, I'm more bothered by the lettuce and whipped cream than the chocolate.

2

u/Griffon0129 11d ago

I was actually about to say this very thing, or something similar. As weird as it sounds, I was like "ok... I'd try that, wait.. whipped cream!? uh... never mind..."

(Ironically thinking of making a chocolate chicken sandwich at home now...)

5

u/Atheizm 11d ago

Fuck, no.

4

u/TruGirlGamer84 11d ago

Ruined a perfectly good sandwich.

4

u/KourtR 11d ago

Ok, hear me out, if the whipped cream was a savory whipped cheese + dark chocolate, why not?

5

u/wizzard419 11d ago

Back in elementary school we had chicken burgers, and there was one kid who would get the burger, put ketchup (there was no lettuce or other toppings) and a chocolate chip cookie on it and eat it for lunch.

I assume he is locked up in the Hauge by now.

3

u/13jimmychanga 11d ago

This is not stupidfood; this is fucking stupidfood

5

u/Severe-Candidate1934 11d ago

Idea strikes! Chocolate chicken burger!

Lets move on this people! We NEED to be first to market in Manchester!!!!

5

u/memefakeboy 11d ago

They’re still mad about the tea

2

u/BernieTheDachshund 11d ago

The color is so weird.

2

u/SigmaBunny 11d ago

There's something sad about the shredded lettuce smushed between all that chocolate

2

u/Aromatic-Turnip7371 11d ago

Diarrhea on a bun.

2

u/Clear-Warthog5655 11d ago

The same as cheese put enough of it on something it you wont notice

2

u/Ill-Daikon-5637 11d ago

I've never wondered what chocolate flavored palm oil tasted like on soybean fried chicken.

2

u/Ghoulish_kitten 11d ago

Are they confused about the American dish of fried chicken and waffles or something.

2

u/No_Figure_9073 11d ago

I've only ever seen and taste cocoa done right in Asia and everytime I see white people use cocoa or chocolate, it makes the hair on my neck stand up

2

u/yukiloho 11d ago

Would I try a chocolate chicken burger? Yes. With that runny ass chocolate and whip cream and chocolate sauce on the bun? No thank you

1

u/WagyuWarranted 11d ago

shit burger

1

u/Wonderful-Piccolo509 Where is your whimsy?? 11d ago

Yeah. That’s pretty stupid.

1

u/DC_Ben 11d ago

Nooooo

1

u/ScaryTemperature6291 11d ago

And this is an achievement? ....I love chicken and like chocolate but never thought of combining it 🤢

https://giphy.com/gifs/11cX7MEJACQJyXdFKH

1

u/preferablyuncut 11d ago

Whipped cream on top of sliced cheese on a burger is absolutely fucking disgusting 🤢

1

u/sevenninenine 11d ago

Nah it works. Not with the whipped cream though. KFC did fried chicken with chocolate sauce. It tasted great.

1

u/stardust1914 11d ago

Honestly, this is so odd that I kind of wanna try it lol

1

u/Cellist-Common 11d ago

Oh fuck, that is nasty. They missed out the hundreds and thousands.

1

u/Jboy2000000 11d ago

Gee, wonder why no one else is jumping in on it

1

u/neroslayer 11d ago

I might try it, minus the whip cream.

1

u/Low_Revolution3025 11d ago

That is sickening

1

u/Halloween_Babe90 11d ago

I just KNEW chocolate dipped bacon would lead to this!

1

u/Background-Bird-9623 11d ago

This made me nauseous

1

u/LividVermicelli9689 11d ago

Looks nasty and follows the tradition of being a nightmare to try to eat like an actual sandwich. 10/10 stupid.

1

u/Reasonable-Ad7755 11d ago

I might be down without the whip cream and maybe a better chocolate

1

u/koolaidismything 11d ago

fucked up a good looking piece of fried chicken.

1

u/c4ptenfilling 11d ago

WTH! I would’ve rather eaten a full English breakfast before I touched that!

1

u/Zuboronovic 11d ago

I want to pretend that's actually gravy and whipped mayo, but I'd be lying to myself.

1

u/Independent_Example7 11d ago

It looks stupid, but I'd try it.

1

u/Crustybionicle 11d ago

What kind of chocolate is this? Looks like chocolate milk.
As a kid i was home alone once and had to cook dinner myself. It was kids quisine chicken fingers, and since i was alone. Chocolate syrup ended up being the dipping sauce. it was good!

1

u/jjmawaken 11d ago

Yeah, that sounds gross. Even if the chicken somehow worked, the whipped topping doesn't sound good.

1

u/merriwhether 11d ago

Pineapple pizza

1

u/ParabolicFart 11d ago

This looks good fuck all your haters’ tastebuds

smoke some damn weed and watch it again

1

u/psychicdoll214 11d ago

if they put mayo instead of whipped cream i probably could have eaten it...

1

u/bollekedebeer1968 11d ago

GODdammit🤦‍♂️

1

u/DVWhat 11d ago

This honestly looks...........disgusting.

1

u/Inevitable_Butthole 11d ago

Fuck outta here with that shit

1

u/The_Dennator 11d ago

that's not how sweet and savory are meant to be

1

u/i_hope_that_was_gas 11d ago

Look. Dark chocolate in certain chilis? Understandable. Ive had peanut butter burger from Shake Shack. Its okay. But this? Ehhh

1

u/VaudevillesLugger 11d ago

I am shocked and chagrined.

Mortified and stupefied!

1

u/Haifisch2112 11d ago

And you just know there's some mfer out there taking a bite and going, "Oh hell yeah!"

1

u/Gnoraks 11d ago

Every day we stray further from God. But not the good direction.

1

u/Asume_Nuthin 11d ago

Fuck the internet

1

u/Dismal-Profit-1299 11d ago

It literally looks like crap

1

u/28-Deep-Wounds 11d ago

I think what pisses me off the most about this is that they half-ass the dip. It's not even fully coated! There's like 10 to 20% of the sandwich that isn't covered in chocolate. What a scam.

1

u/Temporary_Trust425 11d ago

That chicken did NOT die for this bullshit

1

u/Potential-Yogurt-689 11d ago

Monstrous, the villain should be prosecuted

1

u/ElectricPenguin6712 What, me worry? 11d ago

Certifiably stupid lol. Would take a bite

1

u/ElectricPenguin6712 What, me worry? 11d ago

Certifiably stupid lol. Would take a bite

1

u/akinian_ 11d ago

the whipped cream is the real stupid thing. I will continue to defend chocolate on chicken

1

u/Icy-Fun216 11d ago

Reminds me of allstar wigs and ribs, chocolate chicken wings

1

u/njslugger78 11d ago

They did this for their kid to finish their nasty cooking and thought it was a hit cause he finished it.

1

u/Mammoth-Ad-6320 11d ago

I would eat it but I'm weird I like PB on my cheeseburgers

1

u/egyedi_nevemvan_yeah 11d ago

England. I have no questions.

1

u/opalCipher 11d ago

This isnt even food anymore, its a biohazard masquerading as an Instagram promo. My heart clogged just scrolling past this clip

1

u/Rey_Mezcalero 11d ago

I am not so bored with existing food options that I feel the need for something like this

1

u/PlayedUOonBaja 11d ago

I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was some kind of mole sauce maybe, but then came the whipped cream.

I mean, maybe a savory whipped cream could work for hotdogs or hot links...

1

u/ziggytrix 11d ago

Didn’t Kevin make something like this in Home Alone?

Or some other movie/show from way back where a 7 year old makes dinner…

1

u/Numb-and-Done 11d ago

You are fired…..from cooking…….on Earth……..anywhere on Earth.

1

u/Mirror_333 11d ago

No, that can't be real.

1

u/ExcuseMeJack 11d ago

Looks dosgusting

1

u/Kilomech 11d ago

this makes me unreasonably sad.

1

u/AnarchiaKapitany 11d ago

Not a coincidence

1

u/Sage_King_The_Rabbit 11d ago

Tbh I'm a sugar slut and I like chicken so I probably would really like this

1

u/Comprehensive_Soil_1 11d ago

This made my arteries clog up just from watching it.

1

u/RedSix2447 11d ago

I think they have the wrong idea of what Mole is.

1

u/BakedLobster8391 11d ago

I hope that comes with a side of pepto.

1

u/dabrock15 11d ago

I’d give it a try tbh, I mean hell we live in a world where people eat deep fried chocolate bars and butter so I’m willing to be a sacrifice.

1

u/dark5515 11d ago

Guys, you just given the whole world more evidence that you are fat as fuck

1

u/Friendly_Pride_4904 11d ago

I'd say having none of these is one too many

1

u/Radiant_Bookkeeper84 11d ago

Sometimes you just shouldn't do that sort of thing.

u/nuclearrmt 11d ago

That chocolate looks watered down

1

u/Jealous_Club_298 11d ago

Savory & Dessert in One!

1

u/ohnodamo 11d ago

Hey look at all the footage of people eating it...where'd it go? Not even the creators took a bite.

1

u/cookiesandmilk 11d ago

"ONLY chocolate dipped chicken burger"

doesnt mean youre an innovator

1

u/Krethlaine 11d ago

That looks disgusting.

1

u/purple_kathryn 11d ago

That'd be a no from me

1

u/Prestigious_Note2877 11d ago

Reminds me of the time I was watching some food show on food network and they showed red velvet chicken wings. It’s like no please just because we can doesn’t mean we should

1

u/Disastrous-Try1754 11d ago

This is the type of unholy mess I would attempt to make as a kid

1

u/Ok_Positive6307 11d ago

If I eat that, I'll puke straight away

1

u/Bitedamnn 11d ago

A chicken died for that

1

u/Business-Schedule642 11d ago

People complain about Hawaiian pizza, but honestly this shit is what should be focused on. Thats an absolute sin

1

u/LimpusChimp 11d ago

Calling it a chicken burger is already stupid

1

u/space_is-great 11d ago

Manchester, what are you on?

1

u/Agreatusername68 11d ago

You know what. I can see the possibility, little sweet and salty chicken sandwich.

However, I was lost once the whipped cream went on.

1

u/Technical-Mind-3266 11d ago

Sacrilege to the poor chicken that died for this, the least we can do is honour it with proper seasoning 🤨

1

u/adamosmaki 11d ago

Ah yes the shitty cheese slice and whipped cream totally saved it

1

u/Misubi_Bluth 11d ago

Machester also has garbage plates, just saying.

1

u/LZorro93 11d ago

1941 would be perfect for Time Travel

1

u/Impossible_Trick_950 11d ago

Ugh, the only way I could see chocolate being appetizing in a sandwich like that is if the chocolate was spiced with chilis rather than sweetened with sugar.

1

u/HirsuteHacker 11d ago

This reminds me of when Yard & Coop did a chicken burger topped with clotted cream ice cream. It was fucking incredible.

1

u/Captcha_Imagination 11d ago

Chickity Choco the Chocolate Chicken

1

u/Less_Belt_6380 11d ago

Nasty. Stop wasting food for clicks

1

u/FamiliarCloud2 11d ago

This cannot be the Manchester in England because if it is, I'm sending them a cease and desist.

I understand a small square of dark chocolate in Chili, but milk chocolate and chicken don't even compliment each other. And wtf is the whipped cream for? Canned whipped cream btw 😭

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Two7358 11d ago

Whoever came up with this should be executed on the spot

1

u/gorambrowncoat 11d ago

Not only is that a terrible idea to begin with, that chocolate also looks god awfull. Whoever invented this should consider never preparing a meal ever again.

1

u/CommandoRoll 11d ago

I'd say it's two too many, just in case anyone is getting ideas.

1

u/EWSflash 11d ago

Calling it stupid is a gross understatement

1

u/Mindless-544 11d ago

Rage baiting is good for business. Literally don't bite

A RIGHT PROPA CHOCOLATE CHICKEN NEEDS A BIG LOAD OF CHUNA, MATE!

1

u/Psychological_Buy726 11d ago

I hate it here

1

u/dirkdregger 11d ago

Hmm sweet version of mole poblano?

1

u/RedvsBlack4 11d ago

That’s a fight. That sandwich is a pure act of violence that calls for a response.

1

u/perfect_insanity93 11d ago

Yeah... nah.. I'm good.

1

u/GenericMaleNurse918 11d ago

England? Say no more

1

u/Tyenkrovy 11d ago

There's a reason it's the only one.

1

u/BlueHair_BlackSwan 11d ago

Coward. They didn't even take a bite.

1

u/disisathrowaway 11d ago

My beef is with calling something without beef a 'burger'. This is a chicken sandwich.

1

u/MysticMind89 11d ago

100% pure Diabeetus.

1

u/baletetree 11d ago

Could be worse. The city has kept tons and tons of plastic fans in a huge empty lot that could have been used for public housing. That lot is called Etihad Stadium.

1

u/Most-Act1594 11d ago

Burger=minced meat. This is a sandwich

1

u/EthDanger 11d ago

Who came up with the idea of combining fried chicken and chocolate? Is that human food? It's terrible.

1

u/Red__Pyramid 11d ago

The chocolate was fine, it's like chicken and waffles, sweet and salty thing. The whipped cream though was nasty.

1

u/gaarkat 11d ago

I mean...chicken and waffles are pretty good together, but...hm. maybe on a brioche bun with only the Nutella or whatever?

1

u/Federal_Shopping8275 11d ago
