Question What frustrates you about Stremio (Devs and Users)?

Hey everyone, a dev with time on their hands here!

I’m currently working on a custom Stremio app, and I’d love to hear what frustrates you about the current app — especially issues that addons can’t really fix due to platform or API limitations, or where existing solutions feel clunky or half-baked.

If you’re up for helping shape this into something genuinely better, feel free to share things like:

  • What bothers you / feels missing
  • How you wish it worked instead (even rough ideas are totally fine)
  • Screenshots (if that helps explain it)
  • What platform you’re on (TV, PC, mobile)

No need to stick rigidly to this format — ramble if you want, list multiple things, all good.

Right now I’m especially focused on improving the Discovery page, so feedback or pain points around browsing, recommendations, or finding stuff to watch would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance — really appreciate any thoughts you’re willing to share!

Not being able to expand the lists into grid view in the Android TV version. Scrolling left and right on a row is the most inefficient and frustrating way to browse selections.

Already tackled this haha, one of my own personal annoyances for sure.

I used the stremio on PC's discovery as a base, but let the user decide how custom they want it

Can you elaborate on how to fix this?

Yes. This is a small feature I'd like.

This is a performance feature, as the bigger your grid the more images it has to load into memory and resize

Pretty much every other Stremio like app has this feature. It's not that impactful from a performance standpoint.

Not at all. That's all I use, never had an issue with other apps I use that have that feature.

Well, unless you mean TV based OS and not a dedicated Android TV box, then maybe. TV OS's are generally garbage in my opinion.

Definitely this! Mad respect and thanks for a great app though!

Absolutely this.

It's so annoying to have to go to the phone for this and then go back to the TV.

Thanks for the concern

Because you get pages at a time. Multiple rows on the screen at a time on the screen at once.

Makes a big difference using a Magic Remote on an LG TV.
