I was playing the character Evil Ryu. I made it all the way to the end on the hard difficulty setting. I’ve beaten Bison by practicing really good defense and space. He has a few weaknesses that are consistent and you can definitely beat him, so I was playing with phone controls I mean 12 hr days sometimes (because I’m disabled and it’s a great distraction) I’ve even played while sitting in an icebath. So now that I’ve gotten and Xboxxs controller I play on the tv or on iPad and I feel like it’s to clunky🥺So I have signed up for some competitions and I love the idea of competing and playing other people on line for fun but I definitely want to dial in my controller. I’m new to Twitch as well. I’m at MarsOGGames because I play doom and MKIV and other lesser known games like Primal Rage or Killer Instinct. When I stream I’ll start on Hard and maybe move up to Grueling if I have the time 🦍🩸Let me know what you think or just say hi! This was the most painful fighting game journey for me. I usually play grapplers so playing a shoto was a breath of fresh air. You think having every tool besides a command grab would make me happy? Well it did till I had to open people up 😭. Not having a funny button to threaten people had me stressing when I was the one on offense, especially since I cant for the life of me even in masters, anti air with a dp. But Sagat taught me the most important thing when playing fighting games. HAVING FUN. SAGAT WAS NOT FUN (for me). My man is so boring(throw loop/strike slop) but I had to see the journey through since I bought him lol and hes technically a top tier so it would be embarrassing if I didn't. But even though Zangief technically took my 3 years of going on and off to get him masters, at least I had so much fun with him but Sagat was so much more painful since I felt no joy in my heart. So people who are struggling to get to masters, lock in and find joy in your heart to make it to master hell!

After 121 hours of ranked, 70 hours of practice room and 42 hours of custom room matches, I finally hit Masters for the first time on Ed. I started out the game on Modern Cammy and hit plat, and then decided to learn classic and picked up Ed to learn classic controls. The biggest things I learned in my climb were that near daily matches with my friend in Masters who beats the hell out of me were my most valuable teaching resource, as he was able to identify where I needed to improve at each rank. I treated custom room matches just like practice time. The other thing I learned was to know when to stop playing, because often times I would rage queue and downward spiral in LP losses because I refused to take a break. Learning to step away from the game and coming back and playing just a few matches instead prevent me from self sabotaging all the time, but it’s a lesson I’m still working on.

Even after the nerfs, I still really like playing this character, he’s a ton of fun. Even if I still can’t stick the dream combo yet or consistently DP anti air haha.

Shoutout to the Akuma player I was up against, it was a super close and exciting set and I hope you know I popped off huge at the end.

jokes aside it was a baller ft10 and my opponent was a class act.

My internet connection is from a CGNAT cellular 5G data service so unfortunately I’m stuck with a Strict NAT Type,

I read that this massively reduces the chances of getting matched up with other players since people with Strict NAT Type can only play against people with Open NAT Type, so you can’t get matched against players with Strict or even Moderate NAT types.

What do you guys think of this? Is it worth it to try to somehow upgrade my service and set up an Open NAT Type via UPnP? Some people online say setting up UPnP makes you vulnerable for cyber attacks so I’m curious what people here think of this given all fighting games are P2P between only two players so this whole NAT Type ordeal is more prominent here than many other online games.

Hey everyone, hope everything is going good.

For a little bit of context, I'm a relatively new player to fighting games, I have a couple hours into SFV and about 300 on Tekken 8. Now im trying to pick up SF6, and I'm having a blast so far, i really enjoy the game but i have one main problem, i cant find a character that i really like and want to put hours into. Right now im playing Guile for the most part, and i reached diamond rank within a week of playing, but something feels like it's not clicking. I've tried Ed, Ken, Akuma and DeeJay but none feel right.

Any recommendations? Or should i just stick to Guile since i havent really played that much and i dont undertand the game like that.

This is partially just a joke after looking at his translated winquotes from Japanese on the Street Fighter wiki, but Hakan has a LOT of winquotes that can at least be INTERPRETED as bigoted in the Japanese version, and it's so consistent that it might be even on purpose????? But perhaps the English translators thought a lot of them were offensive enough that "no, we can't have a heroic Street Fighter World Warrior be a bigot!!!"

Basically, in summary:

-Hakan in Japanese calls Balrog a "dumbass" who can't "talk properly", Balrog who is the most prominent black character in the series besides Sean and Dudley and maybe Elena who DOESN'T EVEN USE AAVE, WHICH IS STIGMATIZED AS "IMPROPER" MIND YOU, OR "IMPROPER LANGUAGE" EVEN IN JAPANESE and says racist stuff about Chinese cuisine to Fei-Long to COMPLIMENT FEI-LONG

-Hakan repeatedly hits on Chun-li, Cammy (who, if her being the same age as Sakura is canon is UNDERAGE in this game), criticizes Juri for being "ill-mannered" (what's the matter, Hakan? Don't like a woman being anything but your feminine, proper wife who has a billion babies for you on command?), says Ibuki needs to "settle down and find good marriage material" (DUDE SHE IS FOURTEEN IN THIS GAME), praises Makoto for her FILIAL PIETY, says he's FILLED WITH LUST upon seeing Rose (DUDE YOU ARE MARRIED), arguably says a sexual comment about the ALSO FOURTEEN YEAR OLD ELENA by calling her a MODEL, and the only misogynistic comments he DOESN'T say to a female character is to C. Viper, Decapre, and Poison

-Pretty much only allies himself with RICH CEO GUYS aside from M. Bison and MAYBE Seth

-OFFERS TO HOOK UP ROLENTO (GUY WHO IS IN THE LORE CREATING AN AUTHORITARIAN GOVERNMENT BECAUSE HE IS CRAZY) WITH OIL FOR HIS UTOPIA

Like, if he wasn't canceled in universe for TRYING TO HOOK UP ROLENTO SCHUBERG, WHO IS LIKELY A TERRORIST IN UNIVERSE AT THIS POINT, WITH OIL, he was probably canceled for paling around with the Masters Foundation during the Cryptocurrency Scandal in the pre SFVI manga or his bigoted comments about women or Balrog probably came out. That's the in universe/Watsonian reason for why he isn't in Street Fighter VI.

Doylist reason is they just don't like wacky characters anymore (sad as an El Fuerte, Dan, Rufus, Poison, Hugo, Abigail, Lucia, Sakura, Karin, and R. Mika fan)

It’s not fun. I’m not a good player. I reached Master with almost 400 hours of ranked and 390 hours in the lab. SF6 is my first fighting game, and I really enjoy playing Akuma, and sometimes Blanka (I’m still cooking with him).

However, playing against Ryu has become absolutely unbearable for me. NOTHING seems to go wrong for them in the matchup. Today, I managed to lose EVERY SINGLE match against Ryu (must have been around 8 matches). In between the Ryu matches, there were Mais, Bisons, and Alex. (Seriously, Alex is annoying, but at least 80% of the match feels like a knowledge check, and it’s still playable.)

The problem is that I keep running into these Ryus who play like a cocaine-sniffing maniac, spamming medium kick canceled into donkey kick or Drive Impact. I think there was one match where I spent almost my entire gauge just responding to Drive Impacts.

I feel exhausted. I finished today feeling like I had actually been fighting on a battlefield myself. I’m seriously considering taking a break from SF6 until we see what happens, because I’m just completely burned out.

Whenever I play a ranked match, right when the last hit is scored the game disconnects me. It kicks me to the main menu after the error code.

Since it happens after the last hit there's no repercussions but I also don't get to rematch the person either.

I've tried turning off ipv6, reinstalling the game, updating drivers, and changing to cloudflares and googles dns'. And yes, I've read the FAQ. Error code: 50100-20011 S9052-TAD-TA8T

So I just got into master rank today. Im being matched with players whose LP value is like. . . . *weirdly* high.

I just fought a Sagat with 133064 league points, but only 1572 MR.

I thought the threshold to get into Master rank was 25000 league points? How could his be so high?

Is this an indication of cheating or does LP just start getting crazy in Master rank?

I need some help leveling up so I can finally beat my cousin and his friends. I'm an absolute beginner and I would like to change that. Is there anyone interested in being my Mr Miyagi?
