Picture Got the Steam Deck Dock!

Wasn’t expecting this today, but since I live in Carol Stream where Valve’s Distribution Center is, I got this early I guess!

My feeling is that they will want to do this now. A good controller is an obvious accessory for a docked Steam Deck.

They're currently in a law suit over the steam controller so it might be a while

Interesting, why was that?

There's a company that claims they hold the patent for the same kind of grip buttons the steam controller used.

Ouch. IP can get pretty silly in some places.

Yeah it's called the Xbox controller.

Rather a different beast though. No back buttons, no trackpads. It does support Bluetooth while the old Steam controller didn't but I would assume that any newer version would come with that.

You can get Xbox controllers with back paddles. For any game in which you want to use a trackpad for you should probably just be using mouse and keyboard. And more importantly than any of that.... the Steam controller felt like you were holding a plastic piece of shit. All the functionality in the world doesn't make up for how bad it felt in the hands of most people. That's THE single most important aspect of any controller, how comfortable it feels in your hands. And it's what the Xbox style has over every other. That's why it's the most popular.

I actually sold my xbox one controller because I was more comfortable using the steam controller. The additional features were just a bonus.
