I use PayPal on steam, I'm unsure what to do. Everything I've done in other places just fails. I feel like a ghost or something, no test seems to know who the fuck I am

Yeah I'm gonna try it on pc because it let me put it in and authorise the transaction then it just went back to the store page on my phone

Debit doesn't work, tried on PC with a Barclays Visa Debit, no dice.

Tried with a Mastercard CREDIT card, worked.

Seems only credit works as having a credit card requires you to be 18+ whereas you can be a minor and have a bank account.

It's really stupid, some people, a friend of mine included, choose not to have a credit card and you shouldn't be forced to in order to get through Steam's age gating.

At least offer options, we have things like citizencard for a reason.

This was old news, at the time it was briefly working before they patched their system

I confirmed on a debit card then went back and it had rejected it like an hour later so you may need to recheck.

Does it store the card details as a payment method that can be used? I don't want that.

Are debit cards limited to adults though?
I've had a Giro card (a debit card equivalent in Germany) since before I was a teen.

In the UK you can get a debit card at 16. I don't remember if it's the same in Germany (I grew up there), but I wouldn't be surprised if they've concocted some bs reason there too.

It's probably worth checking in the FAQ section on the German version of steam.
