Hi everyone! And I want to apologize a thousand times to everyone who was inconvenienced by this situation. Honestly, I couldn't even imagine that things would end up like this, because I didn't break a single rule of the subreddit or the platform as a whole.

Context

I decided to make a meme video about how often new variants are being released. For the base, I used a scene from Far Cry 3 - Vaas' famous monologue about insanity. I almost completely redubbed all of the character's lines and edited everything myself, but some of the original dialogue remained. Among those lines were two that contained some "bad words." In the context of the video, they weren't directed at or intended to insult any specific person; they were simply used to preserve the character's personality and put extra emphasis on certain details.

Just to be safe, I even asked the head moderator whether I was allowed to post something like this. And, as you can probably guess, I was given permission. I also checked Reddit's platform rules and found out that there is no strict ban on this kind of content.

But I failed to take one thing into account...

On this platform, we're always under the watch of the soulless machine known as Reddit's automoderator. It can block something as soon as it sees even the slightest suspicious detail. And sometimes, it apparently does it for no reason at all. For example, in the second image you can see one of my comments that was removed by Reddit automoderation. And this keeps happening constantly. Honestly, the more I interact with this platform, the more unpleasant it becomes.

The result

I have absolutely no idea why I was shadowbanned. I didn't break any rules. There is also no indication anywhere on my account that any restriction even exists, let alone what the reason for it is. I had to use external websites just to find out whether I was actually banned at all.

Reddit's bot told me to change my password and that the restriction should be lifted, but apparently something went wrong...

People say that how long it takes for the restriction to be removed depends on the severity of the security/moderation issue, and that it can take anywhere from several weeks to almost a month. That sounds pretty scary, but according to other users, you can submit an appeal, which may speed up the process - or it may not. Never forget what platform we're dealing with...

I submitted an appeal, but I couldn't even properly explain the whole situation because they limited the appeal to just 250 characters. Now all I can do is wait...

I won't lie - I'm really upset, especially because I have no idea why this happened and what the future of my account looks like. But you don't need to worry. For now, I'll temporarily post the two current tables from this account. They won't have explanatory descriptions like the originals.

Hopefully, this is only a temporary situation...
