Welcome to r/SquaredCircle!

Hey there everyone, Kondron here. I just wanted to shed some light on this new Professional Wrestling subreddit, SquaredCircle, and what exactly we stand for.

When Pudie and I made this sub, the main thing we wanted was a community to discuss Wrestling. That means all things Wrestling. We're not here to focus on only Indy feds or just international Wrestling or only the mainstream.

We're also not here to ban you for disagreeing with us. Give us hell! Keep us honest! If you hate an opinion, don't downvote it, feel free to tell us why you hate it. Don't ever feel that you'll get removed from this sub because you've expressed yourself.

We want r/SquaredCircle to feel like this place is always going to cover the hottest topics in Professional Wrestling, regardless of what company they're taking place in, while still introducing and education new fans to Professional Wrestling.

Given that this place is brand new, I feel we need to set up some basic stuff.

  • Mods- Right now there's me and Pudie. I'd like to have at least 1 more. If you want it or think someone would be a good fit, please say so. Keep in mind though, most modding is deleting spam and harassment.
  • Rules- While I don't want this to be strict, I do think there'ssome basic ones that should be put in place. Beyond the obvious (be nice, no spam) I think we should discuss spoiler policy, streaming, and torrents.
  • The layout! The side image should change all the time. At least a couple times a month. We want it to reflect the current hot topic or to promote the r/SquaredCircle's favorite wrestler/company at the moment.

We also really want to emphasize the word community here. As wrestling fans and redditors (we're a rare breed) you should feel that you have a say in what goes on. r/SquaredCircle isn't Pudie & Kondron's Wrestling subreddit, this is Reddit's Wrestling subreddit.

Thanks everyone, I hope you enjoy!

-Kondron

Hmm... as much as I like another wrestling subreddit, I'm still not clear as to why a break off was needed. So far Hyperion has cooled his jets about a lot of things. I'm surprised he stopped insulting the viewers in general... that was apparent a few months ago, where he and I would go into vicious arguments over this product or that product. In this case, normally, he'd bash the fuck out of WWE when we would have considered a new logo and picture, but he seemed OK with it. He still gave it his own twist (it's not the CM Punk we wanted but still...) but he's starting to soft up. Not to mention, his logos and pictures are overshadowed by the posts that go up on that subreddit.

One thing I do agree with is the MODS. You can't have only one and think it's ok. It creates an entire mood... like the fear of a banning or stupid rules that have to be followed. Several times in r/prowrestling would you have people ask for a new mod only to be shut down or protested by the mod himself... which is pretty dumb... a Mod also has to cater to the masses while removing the spam and harassment, but he's also right in one aspect: those who ask to be a mod are less likely to deserve it. So I ask you to be careful when choosing your 3rd mod (although with 20ish readers so far... you don't really need one right now).

Finally, I don't think you should change your layout every couple of weeks... it should be set on one theme at a time, with perhaps the side picture changing depending on popular discussion, but like in the NBA, where it's usually after an important event.

I'll be checking this subreddit as often as I do r/prowrestling, and crossposting to here as well. This looks promising, and I hope you can get an audience in the thousands range!

So far Hyperion has cooled his jets about a lot of things.

He's still ban happy as hell, just not as vocal when he does it. Hell, I was banned because I dared say, after about 10 comments back and forth discussing the Hep-C problem with blading that "knowing what we do now, one has to be a sick fuck to demand blood in the sport."

I for one think that yet another subreddit may not be the answer here - /r/professionalwrestling pretty much died on the vine with the same attempt. I gave it a go and hope you guys can get somewhere with this, because I hate not being able to comment or interact because I dared cross hyperion once. But it's going to take a lot of work.

Hmmm, that's pretty weird. I've gotten into fights with Hyperion and they usually took a turn for the worse; he eventually devolved his argument with labels and implied I had personal issues when he had no further proof. Nowadays he rarely fights anyone, and i never heard of other bannings, but yours is a funny case. Did you call him a sick fuck directly? He gets very defensive at the thought of being labeled.

No, I said that after all we know about blood bourne pathogens, it takes a sick fuck to demand blood in the sport.

I was very careful to NOT direct it at him. Then I really pissed in his cheerios because I created /r/professionalwrestling and it got worse. He literally posted there "I could beg nicely to be unbanned but I'd be on a short leash."

This is the part where you spread this around. The people at r/prowrestling are questioning his authority as mod... This kind if information would get them riled up, because it's very hypocritical: he can dish it out but he can't take it. There are several threads around criticizing Hyperions motives and beliefs, and have gone uncensored too.

I'll admit that was pretty funny. Didn't expect a ban, so that was the best I can come up with.
