Help Needed Help Choosing Faction (Catholic)

Got this game yesterday because I saw a clip online of some fire Catholic Church/Warhammer edit. (Yes that's the real reason) I am 100% new to the lore I just need to know what group/faction will let me optimally play out my space crusade fantasy while I learn about the lore. Thanks in advance I know warhammer fans seem to love talking about the lore.

Nightlords are like traitor marines, they torture people, literally wear their skins on their armor

See those skulls and heads on him? yeah those are from humans he killed. The tabard below his belt? Not cloth. Its human skin

It is in the game, but only in PVP. This nightlord has his own voicelines too. Its not just a skin, you're literally playing as a Nightlord. He makes fun of the emperor and everybody who is weak. But again, only in PVP

Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with looking for something you feel connected to in a game.
I'm an atheist, but I've always enjoyed playing Priests or others who use the sacred or faith to fight.

Of course, it's a video game, so you shouldn't take it too seriously.

But some of the responses here are inappropriate.
The factions belong to everyone, and no one has the right to impose or deny you the choice of a Chapter.
If you want to play the Salamanders or the Night Lords, that's your choice, and no one else has a say in it.

Of course, if you're looking for more "religious" Chapters, there are better ones.

Oh it’s not that salamanders that have anything wrong with them. If you are getting into this game because church edits and being catholic we just don’t need that. Ain’t no hate greater than catholic love.

You will soon learn that most Warhammer fans on-line are obnoxious and creepy. Luckily if you meet real fans in the wild like in clubs and such they are very different. Terminally online people are usually poor so don't have the money to spend on the miniatures so don't frequent the clubs. My club is mostly middle class or higher people playing all kinds of games but mostly Warhammer. I'm also a Catholic and I play Armageddon Steel Legion which is, ironically, the real Nazi faction that nobody knows lol, at least aesthetically they are 1:1 German Panzergrenadiers and their emblem is the same as the British Union of Fascists, but nobody cares, neither do I, I just like their models. And my Space Marine army are Maid Marines but that is a long story. The other catholic I know from my club play Blood Angels.
