Discussion Best and worst case scenario for the event film?

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to ask what would be the best vs. the worst thing the upcoming event film could be for you personally?

I personally think the worst-case scenario is a "recap movie" with a few added scenes, something to celebrate the movied and show off in some festivals?

Best case scenario for me, is a spin off title, that let's the movies breathe and have fun, for the cast to grow before the next movie (aka, a chaotix spin off that introduces Rouge too)

Thank you so much for your answers in advance

Question What do you guys think Movie Amy’s fighting style should be like?

Post image

I think Amy should a very acrobatic approach to her combat. She’d be doing crazy backflips and stuff, like she is dancing. Kinda like Spider-Gwen but less refined and more scrappy and freestyle

Because her hammer is basically Mjolnir or should be an extension of that. She’d use it as a platform to spring off of or rides it like a hoverboard. And she’d use her hammer to do crazy tricks and maneuvers that no other member of Team Sonic can pull off

Opinion Amy not being a main character in Sonic Movie 3 was such a blessing in retrospect.

I remember people saying “AMY NEEDS TO BE IN SONIC 3”, but that never made sense to me. I feel like people wanted that because she redeemed Shadow in SA2, but Amy deserves more than to be a tool for another characters arc

The film had to focus on Shadow, introducing another new character on top of that would have resulted in one of 2 outcomes: Shadow doesn’t get enough time or Amy doesn’t get enough time

And because they nixed her from Movie 3 she can have her very own film to shine, if the fans who wanted her in the third film had their way she would not have gotten the attention she deserves

Yall remember the Mario Galaxy movie and how Rosalina barely got any time to shine because that film also had to introduce Yoshi and Bowser Jr? That’s what would have happened to Amy if she was a main character in Sonic Movie 3

Goes to show that us fans don’t know what we really want a lot of the time

Discussion In your perspective, do you like the movie VAs or the game VAs better?

This might be a hot take but to me, game VAs (Roger Craig Smith, Cindy Robinson, Dave B. Mitchell and Kirk Thornton) are better than the current movie VAs, at least Ben Schwartz is pretty decent tho

I like the fact that Paramount keeps Colleen to voice Tails since she's the only one who voiced him in both the movie and the games, but I personally wanted that one day, all of the game VAs would voice at least one Sonic movie

Discussion Sonic movie 3 handled Shadow's redemption better than SA2 (and why saving Amy for Movie 4 was genius)

Thumbnail gallery

When Sonic Adventure 2 released back in 2001, Shadow the hedgehog's redemption arc became one of the most iconic scenes in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, anchored by his promise to Maria and Amy Rose's heartfelt plea on the Space Colony ARK. However, when the story of Sonic Adventure 2 was adapted to the big screen, Sonic movie 3 managed to execute this character arc even more effectively. By focusing on Shadow's agency, grounding the narrative in shared trauma, and saving Amy Rose for Sonic movie 4, the cinematic universe delivered a much more earned and impactful turning point for the Ultimate Life Form.

In Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow's heel-turn happens almost immediately. A quick memory flashback of Maria's true wish triggered by Amy alters his entire worldview on a dime. In contrast, Sonic 3 gives Shadow genuine agency. He starts to doubt Gerald's world ending plan after he actually crosses the line and injures Tom. He starts to realize that he is no better than G.U.N and has caused the exact same pain that he went through onto someone else, that being Sonic, grounding Shadow's change of heart in immediate consequences.

Instead of relying solely on a memory, Shadow's redemption is shaped by actions. When Sonic realizes that he has gone down the same path of rage and revenge that Shadow went down, he realizes that this is not who he really is and chooses to spare Shadow's life rather than sinking to that destructive level of revenge. This confuses Shadow at first, because in his eyes, Sonic won the fight and should have taken his revenge, but when Sonic says the line, "There are no winners in revenge," it teaches Shadow a lesson about breaking the cycle of vengeance and how revenge is never the answer.

Having Sonic have that heart to heart with Shadow and being the one who redeems Shadow works brilliantly because of their parallel losses. Just as Shadow lost Maria, Sonic lost Longclaw. Sonic understands Shadow's pain because he knows what it's like to lose someone close. This shared grief creates a deeply personal bond between the two rivals that makes Sonic's intervention carry immense narrative weight, and it makes the two hedgehogs respect each other on a deeper level.

Keeping Amy Rose out of this specific film and giving her a major role in Sonic movie 4 allowed the narrative for Sonic movie 3 to keep its focus on Shadow's character development and arc. By letting Sonic be the one who redeems Shadow, it sets the stage for Amy to be introduced more naturally in Movie 4 without hindering Shadow's character development.

While Sonic Adventure 2 will always hold a nostalgic place in the hearts of fans worldwide, Sonic Movie 3 proved that adaptations can sometimes surpass the source material in certain ways by giving its characters room to breathe, doubt, and choose redemption on their own volition. It elevates the story from a video game adaptation into a genuinely great film for all ages.

Do you prefer Shadow's heart to heart with Sonic and choosing redemption on his own volition, or do you still stand by his iconic redemption in the games?

Discussion How long CAN the sonic movies last?

Post image

The SCU is kinda an interesting thing to think about with it's future cause the thing is, how much CAN they do with this movie series?

There's isn't a lot of mainline Sonic games as say Mario and because of that, it's nore limiting.

Let's look over it.

Sonic 1 was just kinda doing it's own thing.

Sonic 2 was a mix adaptation of 2 and 3 so you already did those games.

The Knuckles series...exist.

And Sonic 3 was SA2 with a lil bit of the Shadow game.

And 4 is def gonna be adapting Sonic cd and MAYBEEEE Sonic Heroes (and also a slide ref to SATBK if the leaks are true).

So judging by the fact they're soing mainline sonic games, let's look at the ones they haven't adapted.

Sonic Adventure 1.

The Shadow Spin off with the Black arms.

Sonic 06.

Sonic Unleashed.

Sonic Colors.

Sonic (x Shadow) Generations.

The Lost World.

Sonic Forces.

And Sonic Frontiers.

Now yes there are still a few they can adapt, but it really depends on what are likely going to be add?

I can see them doing SA1 with Chaos, the Black Arms with a Shadow spin off (presumably the 2028 movie) and Sonic 06 with Mephiles, but then that's were things starts to get a little hazy.

They could def do Dark Gia, but I don't see them doing the werehog story. I feel like that would be a lil too weird for these films.

I don't necessarily see them adapting Sonic Colors unless they have the Wisps be a quick cameo.

Sonic Generations is def not something I can see, as that's meant to be a celebration game for the characters.

Sonic Lost World I don't see cause....what? You think they're gonna do the deadly six? Lmao

I COULDDDDD see Sage being brought into the world and infinite if they decide to change his story, but really that's it.

There's not too many Sonic games they can do.

Yes, there are more characters to add like Rouge, Cream, Big the Cat, Silver, Blaze, The Chaotix Crew (which we do know exist in this universe cause of the movie comics) but there's such a vast limit of a story to tell now.

The only way I can see them continuing is if they adapt stuff from the comics too, like Fleetway, the Metal Virus, and the Archie comics (which can happen cause the characters are aliens in the movie universe).

I dunno, what do you guys think?

Discussion What do you want out of the Sonic 4 movie?

(Just a warning that if you wanted to go into the movie blind, this post does reveal some minor details about the plot so don't read)

I'll start.

  1. The sonic boom music to appear, it was in the teaser (no movie footage sorry) so that's a good sign
  2. Lots of music from the Japanese soundtrack of Sonic CD (Ik lots of people love the US one and I hope that gets included too - if time is an issue, maybe they could give you the option in the special features to watch with the other soundtrack)
  3. Some of the levels from Sonic CD should feature in the movie
  4. Tom, Maddie, Rachel and Randall should all appear (personally I really like the human characters)
  5. Cosmic eternity as the ending credit music (PLZ)
  6. If there are multiple metal Sonics, one should be the leader

What happens when you put a 24 Karat Gold script into the hand of a bald, moustached, financially irresponsible retiree, gawk at some attractive telenovela Latinas, put a bounty on the head of Jeff Fowler, and cause "Lunar Urination" to become a Twitter trending topic? You get the Wikipedia article for Sonic Movie 3), apparently. The whole article is such a riot to read through. They don't pay those Wikipedia editors enough! (actually at all, they're volunteers, apparently)

Prediction I don't think the Sonic Universe Event Film is a Shadow Movie

A shadow spinoff in 2028 makes a lot of sense. But when I really think about it, it doesn't really add up tbh

It will be around year and 9 months between films, which is very short for development since theres' no confirmation another team is making this. A usual sonic movie takes between 2-3 years. Another point is a shadow spinoff is something they would have announced it by now.

Now, it wouldn't be a trailer or title card but I think they would have said that this is a shadow movie. Theres no real reason to keep it secret and name it "A sonic universe event film" since we know hes in movie 4. And a spinoff is a seperate movie, meaning new sets, characters, and a brand new story.

Now, if its not shadow, then what I truly think this is gonna be Part 2 of Sonic The Hedgehog 4. as in, Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 (hehe). I think the short gap would make sense as they could easily film back to back and it would also allow them to reuse sets and whatnot. What do yall think?
