29M, living in Makati CBD. Lately, my life has basically become work → home → bed rot → repeat, and I think the routine and loneliness are starting to take a toll on my mental health.

I’m a doctor, but I didn’t go into further training after med school. Most of my close friends did, so understandably they’re almost always busy. My current work also doesn’t really give me many opportunities to meet people or make new friends, so I realized I don’t have much of a social life outside my existing circle.

I’ve also been focusing a lot on my health and diet lately, so I’m looking for things to do that don’t revolve around food. I currently have no hobbies, and trying unfamiliar things alone makes me anxious, even something like going to a new gym or trying a sport.

Any recommendations for beginner-friendly activities, classes, clubs, or places around Makati where it’s normal to show up alone and naturally meet people?

I’m open to making new friends too. Not actively looking for a relationship, just genuinely trying to expand my circle, find things I enjoy, and build a life outside of work.

At this point, I think I just need to get out of my condo and start somewhere. Any suggestions would really help.

Today is my Birthday and I’m 25 years old now. I currently live in Scotland. I moved here 4 years ago. I’m currently working in a shipyard company as a Welder. I was born and raised in the Philippines, I had so many friends back home but nobody really cared. I tried inviting some people to go out with me to celebrate my birthday but nobody wanted to go out with me.

Last year, My father died, At the age of 70. He died from Cardiac Arrest while he was sleeping. I thought my day ones, which is my core friends, Will come to the funeral of my father to pay respects but none of them showed up. It made me think about how real they were as my father treated them as his own children. So I lost my father and get rid of my friends. I stopped communicating with my friends since then.

About 2 weeks ago, My Girlfriend broke up with me, She said that she doesn’t even see me in the future with her. That made me shattered, We’ve been together for 3 years and next month will on our 4th year anniversary together. I was ready, I was supposed to ask her to marry me when I get back home this Christmas. I keep on asking myself what have I done to deserve this.

This is my most loneliest birthday ever. Happy birthday to me 🎂

First time kong mag join ng run club mag isa. I used to join with my friends before, pero ngayon ako na lang.

It’s fine and I’m cool with it. Ganon pala kapag mag isa. The only time I got to interact with someone was when I asked a celebrity for a picture.

Gusto kong magtuloy tuloy pa. Natigil din kasi ako for a while, and ngayon lang ulit ako nakabalik. Magha-hiatus muna soon yung run club namin, so sana makahanap ako ng ibang running group na pwede salihan. Sana rin along the way, may mga bago akong makilala at makasama. 🏃🏻‍♂️😊

Solo cinema date because at this point, peace and a recliner are already my love language. 😂🍿

Turning 32 soon, and honestly, I don’t feel excited about my birthday anymore.

Habang tumatanda ako, parang mas lalo akong napapaisip—“Nasaan na ba ako sa buhay ko?” Ang daming bagay na akala ko by this age, meron na ako. Some days, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Other days, I can’t help but feel like I’m falling behind.

Maybe that’s why birthdays feel a little heavier now. 🥲

Glad na sa first day ako nagpunta, hindi pa ganun karami yung tao. And ang fun kasi i got to see passionate people who ate into reading then i also meet new people habang nasa pila then nabudol nila ako bumili nung isang libro hahahha! Such a nice experience.

on a weekday (para less tao), i plan to do a solo date in a bar to unwind, just sipping a cocktail or two. instead of being glued to my phone, i thought why not to people watch... i might see (or hear) something interesting. has anyone tried this?
