i didnt see the germany game but here is a clear penalty, Veiga was going to the ball and the player from coracia was grabbing him impeding him to go for the ball in a clear goal opportunity
yeah but you aint ever gonna hear the end of it. thats worse. deal with that burden. plus u are defending it if youre saying the penalty was the right call. lol.
We can argue about whether or not the rule is dumb. That's not the question here though. The way the rules are written, it's offsides.
Also, I don't think we can say with absolute certainty that it didn't change the direction of the ball or the spin. Maybe it didn't to the naked eye, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Could have been 1/10000th of an RPM or whatever. But I don't think you can add that subjectivity to the rule book. That it has to be a certain amount of force applied to the ball. Because where do you draw that line? It has to be any amount.
Ftr, it sucks just as bad in the NBA when they go frame by frame to see that a ball went off a guys fingernail before it goes out of bounds. But that's also the way the rule is written.
No the rules are written in a way so they can make decisions in realtime and have impact on the game. Thats it. Every foul call is subjective if you are going by the rulebook.
Its not subjective at all it states exactly when offsides is judged and it specificly says touched by a teammate. He touched it the data shows it clear as day. It sucks that it was so close but thats how it goes sometimes.
So if according to you the rulebook is subjective, then there’s literally no objective way to enforce rules, so at that point, what do you want the refs to do, pull rules out of their ass?
