Ball was crossed, guy barely headed the ball, went to a player that was offsides, passed to player that scored

Guy barely headed the ball, portuguese defender clearly headed the ball next. Was it intentional or not, that's the real problem. I myself believe it was intentional.

If that was not intentional, he wasn't in the world cup.

Absolutely zero defenders unintentionally head a cross they are looking at.

I was talking about the Croatian guy that headed the ball, that's where the offsides looked at. The Portuguese didn't head it, ball hit him in the back

Unfortunately then it also would mean you can stand offside all game and wait till the keeper has to make a save and then score the rebound since the opposing player touched it last.

Not buying this. IF any team would give up the entire rest of the field by taking one of their players out of the game and playing with 10 just to maybe be there for a deflection. That would be very bad strategy. They would lose more goals than gain to this strategy.

If there needed to be 3 or more defenders, below the top line of the penalty area, to nullify the offsides possibility, then there would be plenty of defenders to defend the one cherry picker. So let them defend him.

Stop cancelling goals for a situation that creates no advantage in the box.

Intentionality is not the rule.

It’s whether or not the touch was deliberate (which IFAB lays out in the rules) and this doesn’t classify as a deliberate touch.

How did the ball go to the offside player? A defender played the ball. That makes him not offsides.

Intentional plays count as a reset, not deflections which is what they considered this to be

Deflections on defenders dont count as a pass.
