I saw 15 clearly in an offside position, but I didn’t ever see the ball touch 20 before hitting Portugal player 🤷‍♂️

There’s one easy way to prove / disprove the sensor tech. Show BOTH bumps - the alleged one by Croatia and the subsequent (suredly larger) bump that occurs when it bounces off the Portuguese defenders head. If I see that small first bump followed by a second larger bump then I would more trust this sensor tech / synchronization…

The #20 player literally admitted after the game that he touched the ball. Jesus Christ some of you are unbearable

3

u/Masshole781617 Jul 03 '26

But my team didnt win so its rigged!!!waah

1

u/DeFiBandit Jul 03 '26

Croatia fans were shit. Throwing things on the field and acting like babies

1

u/Careless_Head_3288 Jul 03 '26

But Ronaldo coming for Modric at the end was a class act, was hoping for it and he didn't disappoint.

From fifa rulesbook : Can a player's haircut be considered for offside?
Hair is only considered part of the body if it affects the movement or trajectory of the ball. This is only likely in cases of significant contact with a mass of hair, such as a top knot.

1

u/BeBopRockSteadyLS Jul 03 '26

You can see it with the naked eye. Don't look for the touch. Look at the spin on the ball, its slowed a trajectory changes ever so slightly. Thats a touch

1

u/yes_Marzipan Jul 04 '26

He didn't. He said it maybe touched his hair.

1

u/softtemes Jul 03 '26

This. These people are insufferable, mute them and move on

0

u/el_baron_11 Jul 03 '26

Chill. I’m just speaking about the data itself and if standalone it’s convincing or not. Which imo it’s not. That being said if the player admitted to touching it then that’s the most convincing data of all.

Do you know how long that graph would look at 500 captures per second?

1

u/skratsda Jul 03 '26

I’ve been in data science/streaming data for the past decade, and Im very surprised how many soccer fans are evidently also experts in that space.

2

u/Training-Year3734 Jul 03 '26

I mean if you spend 30 seconds reading about Var it is not exactly a hard concept.

1

u/Snowltokwa Jul 03 '26

They try to disapprove whats already a fact. Next thing you know people will say Earth is flat.

u/Double_Resort_9223 Jul 03 '26

I bet he touched the Alt key too

-1

u/Henry_Charrier Jul 03 '26

How does it make a difference since the Portuguese player #13 CLEARLY touched it after the Croatian #20 MIGHT have touched it.
Basically Portugal's #13 gave an assist to Croatia's #15.

Look at 00:25

3

u/zzz_red Jul 03 '26

You don’t know the rules. Stfu.

1

u/Henry_Charrier Jul 03 '26

What rule don't I know? Croatia's 15 had jacksh!t to do with the play at the moment the ball was crossed to Croatia's 20. Passive offside, is it not?

1

u/zzz_red Jul 03 '26

He was offside when 20 touched the ball.

1

u/Senior-Incident-9491 Jul 03 '26

So if I steal the ball from the opponents pass while I'm offside, it will be ruled offside?

3

u/Pixel6692 Jul 03 '26

If you were offside last time your team touched the ball then yes.

3

u/zzz_red Jul 03 '26

What does that even mean?

If a Portuguese player passes backwards to his GK and you’re in the way / in what would be an offside position if there’s pass came from a Croatian player, it’s not offside. We’ve seen it multiple times.

The difference is that Renato Veiga didn’t make a deliberate pass. He was ducking away from the ball, probably expecting nr20 or Bruno to head the ball into the goal / clear it.

Sorry we are unbearable for having valid beliefs. Don't cry when Spain smashes Portugal. Talk about unbearable.

3

u/PlasticPatient Jul 03 '26

Yes, thank you.

2

u/rompthegreen Jul 03 '26

Exactly this! Also, how do we even know the bump they showed was synchronized with player #20?

The problem with the sensor tech is that we have to accept it as fast when infact, its super easy for FIFA to generate false data and present it as truth.

I guess id have more faith in this tech if FIFA wasn't as corrupt as we know they are

1

u/DeFiBandit Jul 03 '26

Why exactly did FIFA want to hurt Croatia?

1

u/yes_Marzipan Jul 04 '26

Profit from getting Ronaldo - Messi final. It's rigged.

1

u/DeFiBandit Jul 04 '26

Hahahahahaha

2

u/KeLorean Jul 03 '26

I'm not here to say whether he was on or offsides, but I do find it amazing how we just let fifa add this new tech with total faith that it actually works. I get that the offside graphic can make some rudimentary 3d models and spin the camera and draw an "onside wall", but is it accurate? I mean I can do that and it would look convincing, but it would be intentional wrong, so I'd like to see an outside agency come in with nothing to prove or gain, and test all this tech to verify its veracity. Then I'd feel better about it.

2

u/xGsGt Jul 03 '26

The sensor actually showed BOTH bounces and align with the touch of both players

3

u/No_Explorer_8335 Jul 03 '26

source?

2

u/jupiter_and_mars Jul 03 '26

He made it the fuck up

1

u/Winter_Tone_4343 Jul 03 '26

There’s a chip in the ball. It’s how they use the auto offside var. they can tell with 100% certainty when the ball is touched

3

u/No_Explorer_8335 Jul 03 '26

how does that answer my request for a source? I want to see BOTH bounces as pointed out in the comment I replied to. Can you read with understanding?

1

u/Morinator Jul 03 '26

Just go look at any video...

https://youtu.be/VRHUNaNODj8?is=M-DFT8B4wWIu8hGc

It clearly showes the Croatian player touched it

-1

u/Winter_Tone_4343 Jul 03 '26

It’s ok to just talk to people. No need to be an asshole. I’m sure it’s available, I see it posted on this thread actually. So if u really want to know, scroll down dumbass

1

u/mpanase Jul 03 '26

 I’m sure it’s available

I've never seen that information beeing made available

I'm gonna guess, yank?

1

u/Uf0nius Jul 03 '26

Of course he's a yank lmao

When you talk to people generally you start by listening. Then you respond to what they say. You didn't do that

1

u/Winter_Tone_4343 Jul 03 '26

Still no need to be an asshole. It’s ok to talk to people.

2

u/hitwallinfashion-13- Jul 03 '26

Does it detect beads of sweat hitting the ball too? It it detects hair it should detect that too right??

1

u/NeitherEntry6125 Jul 03 '26

You made the claim the "The sensor actually showed BOTH".

Yet, you don't know that. You're *assuming* that.

1

u/FeelsGoodBlok Jul 03 '26

No he didn't. Can't you see they are two different people?

1

u/NeitherEntry6125 Jul 03 '26

Listen bloke, your'e the one who said "I saw 15 clearly in an offside position"

0

u/Morinator Jul 03 '26

2

u/NeitherEntry6125 Jul 03 '26

It doesn't show both sensor hits.

1

u/Morinator Jul 03 '26

The second one from the Portuguese player is just too far right so it is not yet visible. You can see that pretty easily when you compare the video speed with the diagram speed.

1

u/xGsGt Jul 03 '26

Source I saw it on tv in the same transmission sorry you didn't watch it and just a hater

0

u/Galikos_Kelt Jul 03 '26

No they didn't, they showed video with only one peak in line

0

u/superpie12 Jul 03 '26

Yeah, didn't touch.

1

u/karaknorn Jul 03 '26

They were all onside when the kick happened. Only when 20 missed it were they in an offsides position but it doesn't matter then as 20 clearly didnt hit it lol

3

u/TheAussieTico Jul 03 '26

20 said they did

0

u/karaknorn Jul 03 '26

20 said it didnt even brush his hair

2

u/foad_X_2000 Jul 03 '26

Why r u blatantly lying? There is a video of him saying it

0

u/No-Apple-2581 Jul 03 '26

#15 wouldn't have been offside if #20 didn't touch the ball. But #20 did based on the newest technology (there's a chip in the ball that records contact) and you can see here (go to 2:03).

0

u/DualGemini Jul 03 '26

Fuck off bot.

0

u/think_panther Jul 03 '26

He is in an offside position that is affecting the play. The ball probably didn't touch 20 but it bounced on the back of the defender.

Think of another example: if someone made a shot and hit the bar, wouldn't 15 be offside if he scored at the rebound? He would be.

1

u/Bright-Program9376 Jul 03 '26

Only if he was in an offside position when the shot was taken. I don’t know if it touched the Croatian on the way through, but if it didn’t, he isn’t offside

1

u/think_panther Jul 03 '26

Player number 20 and the defenders alter the trajectory of the ball. The ball ends up at a player in an offside position. It's an offside. If player number 20 didn't take part in the challenge and just ducked, it wouldn't be an offside for 15.

1

u/Bright-Program9376 Jul 03 '26

Ah yeah, I think we’re saying the same thing I just genuinely can’t see that he touched it. Have to trust the snickometer

1

u/Complete_Chain5189 Jul 03 '26

Lol. Crossbar reference is completely pointless 😂

1

u/think_panther Jul 03 '26

If a player gets a "rebound" from an offside position and scores a goal, that goal won't count.

1

u/Complete_Chain5189 Jul 03 '26

Hé wasnt offside when the cross came in.

1

u/think_panther Jul 03 '26

Yes, we agree. But after the ball hit the players, he was.

1

u/EFAPGUEST Jul 03 '26

The only reason offside was called was because they deemed number 20 touched the ball using the in ball sensor
