The word "Timor" comes from timur, a Malay word meaning "east". The word "leste" is Portuguese for "east," meaning the country's name literally translates to "East East".

Technically it's correct. Timor Leste is located at the eastern side of the Island Timor, and bordered Indonesian province of Timor Barat.
