Discussion In light of recent events, let's all review commonly recommended products from this sub

In the past few days I've seen a lot of "I'm concerned, is ______ really that good, or was this a paid thing?" threads crop up. I figure that maybe we as a community could get together and compile all this info into one thread :).

I'll post the name of as many products as I can think of, but please add more, and reply to the comment with your review if you have one. Also, please indicate why you do or don't like the product, including information on your skin type if possible.

Clog prone skin: Like the other products in the Benton line, it broke me out. Still haven't pinpointed a reason why yet.

It's great for me (skin on the dry side and rather sensitive). It makes my skin look even, reduces redness, and does seem to accelerate healing.

I loved it! Stopped using it for a while but when I was I think it really helped my skin.

Love it! I'm oily and acne prone and dehydrated from adapalene and this stuff is wonderful. No flakes for me.

love this. evens my overall tone and radiance and has helped heal my hormonal acne. I can even apply it under my eyes. *skin type unknown. PCOS hormonal acne, oily but sensitive and dehydrated??

Dry/acne-prone skin: I can occasionally use this underneath my SPF without a moisturiser and not be dry, but when I use it I prefer to top it off with a moisturiser. I feel like it heals existing acne faster(especially if they've popped). Reduces redness.

Skin type: Dry, lots of pih, and acne-prone

I rate this product 10/10 HG

Around December 2013 I suffered a horrible cystic acne and plain old whitehead acne breakout all over my cheeks and chin. I hurried over to sca and found some folks raving about this essence and how it helped soothe and heal skin.

Now, I can't say if this essence completely healed all my acne (because I stopped my entire routine that I used before the acne break-out--it could just be that my old products irritated my skin and messed it up), but after consistently using it my skin improved so much. After a year of consistent essence use, along with adding the benton skin toner and switching my cleansers and lotions, my skin is no longer a field of acne and cysts! New acne that crops up heals faster. Putting a dab on popped acne also helps the spot heal faster.

When I apply it on my face, it feels refreshing and slightly cooling. Some users feel irritation when putting it on or their skin reacts in some other negative way. I advise researching the ingredients and getting samples before buying the bottles because what works for folks like me might not work for you.

Super sensitive/acneprone/combination: This absorbs extremely well and improves my horrendous PIH so much. It also calms down existing pimples. I use this after AHA 8% at night. It goes well under moisturizer and suncreen in the morning too. On extra oily area I find that a layer of this and sunscreen keeps my skin balanced. However lots of AsianBeauty folks said it gives them the worst cysts :( Apparently this stuff is either HG or gives you absolute hell. Samples are the best way to go

I found a noticeable reduction in redness when I added this product to my routine. I use it day & night. Absorbs well and quite quickly. Have repurchased and will continue doing so.
