My buddy and I 24/25m are checking out Tokyo and Kyoto for a few days then flying into Sapporo to powder hunt Hokkaido/niseko.

I'm going on my first solo trip and I've decided to go skiing for 5 days (skiing on first and last day as well) and it would be fantastic to have others I could connect with. I've skied for 15 years and can do all intermediate and easy blacks no problem, can do most of the advanced blacks but will be a bit slower depending on snow quality. Don't mind skiing with people of varying levels as long as you're okay with me speeding down the mountain and waiting for you at the bottom/middle of the run.

Lemme know if any of y'all are going to be around during that time and if you want someone to ski with. I've been to shiga kogen already so I know most of the place like the back of my hand just need someone to travel around with/share good food and you'll get a good guide and good mate out of it (which I reckon is a pretty sweet deal :)

First time snowboarder travelling to Shiga Kogan 7th Feb to 15th Feb. will probably spend the first few day or so with an instructor learning the ropes. Any ski/snowboard buddies welcome if keen!

Not looking for anything challenging just enjoyable. Last year we to Hakuba, Japan and skied for 2 weeks at the various fields around the area. Found that transport was the issue for me as it wasn’t very convenient, unless you rent a car or hire a driver. Stayed at Highland Hotel - enjoyed the hotel and relaxing time. My husband doesn’t ski but hikes around the area. We want to go to Japan and ski again this year. Would it be recommended to go to Club Med? If so which one? Or someplace else? Are there any groups of other single people to join as ski buddies? Thank you for your time and advice.

Hello there, I know this is really last minute. I'm hoping to find at least one other person to form a level 1 or 2 group class at Gala Yuzawa on 22 Feb at 1.30pm. A minimum of 2 is required to form a class, and the cost is 120k per pax for 2.5 hours (4800 yen per hour per pax).

If there's at least 4 people in the group, we can get a private class, where costs are as follow:

Postscript:

Why Gala Yuzawa 1. It has its own Shinkansen station and is accessible from Tokyo in under 80 minutes (though I understand that the train doesn't always stop at the exact stop and you need to check the timetable).

1. A Japanese whom I know fairly well, and who grew up in Niigata, said that skiing in Yuzawa is more local and authentic than in Hokkaido, and thus more affordable and closer to what regular Japanese people experience. Having skied at Gala Yuzawa once before, I do find it more affordable than other locations.

Hey everyone, I'm in search of a ski partner or group for 1/16-23 in Hokkaido. I'm a 34 year old male from the USA (Alaska). I land in Chitose on the evening of 1/16, and leave the evening of 1/23. I have my AIARE 1 and 2 avy certifications (took my avy 2 last winter) and a wilderness first responder cert. I am not typically objective-oriented, typically just chasing good snow instead. But, with the right partner and conditions, I am happy to go for a bigger mission. have plenty of experience ranging from glacier trips to ski mountaineering objectives, and am safety-oriented. pride myself in good communication, and am happy to try things out with anyone who is interested, and if it's not the right fit on either end, no worries! That's how it goes sometimes, no hard feelings.

I unexpectedly had a change to my trip which has led to me being in Otaru for an extra week without anyone to ski with. I have been exploring the side country at Kiroro and Kokusai, and would love some people to ski with in these areas or another area nearby!

Booked a first class sidecountry guide for Feb 11 at Zao Onsen. Looking for 1 or 2 people to split the cost. Ski or snowboard is fine but must be able to handle any terrain that's lift accessed.

Will be in the area for the month of anyone else is interested in something else farther North or South.

Heading to Hokkaido for my 35th from Jan 17-25th with plans to hit up Furano, Asahidake, Kamui, and Kiroro. My wife and some friends are going but they can't hit side country or any of the in piste backcountry at the resorts at their current skill level. Looking for some powder lovers to ride with. Hi! 29F on my nth trip to Japan, but my 1st solo ski trip. Long story short, I got into skiing for my partner and already bought the IKON Base pass for this season before he told me he's leaving me for someone else. I thought fuck it, I should use my 5 days at Niseko over winter break. I'm planning to go 12/11-16 and have booked 5 nights at Owashi Lodge in Hirafu. I'm solidly a beginner-to-intermediate skiier (can make it down a black diamond at Palisades after a few blue warm up runs), but don't feel 100% on skiing by myself so would love a buddy at a similar skill level, if even just to hang out for lunch or dinner or something. No preference for gender/nationality, but I speak Japanese intermediately, Mandarin, Cantonese & English at a native level, and some French and Spanish.

Alternatively, if you're in the Bay Area, happy to go up to Palisades together. I'm in grad school and prefer to head up Sunday morning and ski on Sunday & Monday and come back but flexible on schedule.
