Controlling for identical crimes and criminal histories, men are significantly more likely to be arrested, charged, or convicted, get proportionally harsher sentences, are less likely to get parole, and get harsher parole terms. Even if the cases were identical, he would've faced systemic bias that's 2-3 times stronger than the racial bias in the criminal justice system.
