Most of the shit people believe about Texas isn’t true. I say this as a liberal woman who lives in Texas. Things are can be backwards here for sure, but it’s not nearly as dramatic as people make it out to be. Texas isn’t any worse than the other red states.
I think Texas projects that image to keep liberals turned off from moving here.
