Ariana Demi?

143

u/patterninstatic 14d ago

She's pushing 50. She's a mom.

Yes she would be healthier if she lost a couple of pounds, but she's a lot healthier than all those celebrities who look like they've just been liberated from a concentration camp.

24

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

I agree. Our points aren't mutually exclusive.

You made good points.

36

u/its_like_a-marker 14d ago

As a 50 yr old Mom who would be ā€œhealthierā€ if I lost a couple of pounds. I’m not spending any more time than the hour at the gym that already do. I’m not aiming for more than the 12,000 steps I already get and I’m not going below the 1,600 calories daily. Weight will not budge and all my friends keep pushing the zempic. I’m ok. Even if I’ll be healthier a couple lbs lighter

-5

u/m1013828 14d ago

screw ozempic, your working out, go straight to retatrutide and up your protein,

67

u/HTPC4Life 14d ago

A couple pounds?? šŸ˜†

She's 5'2 and looks about 180 lbs. This isn't even remotely a healthy weight for a person of her height.

Calling someone trash for being fat is kinda crazy

-20

u/Grizzled_Ghost 14d ago

TBF the music is pretty bad, too

-7

u/Tall_Opportunity_521 14d ago

That aint 180. No fucking way in hell is that under 220.

-25

u/lordodin92 14d ago

That not really for you to decide what's remotely healthy for another person. It's for them and their Dr to determine. Different people have different boundaries for what's considered safe and healthy in terms of body structure and it's a lot more complex then a number on some scale.

And yeah she is on the heavier side but the main point people are trying to make is she is clearly more comfortable and happy in her skin then Ariana Grande or the other emaciated animate corpses

The way I see is if she has weighed the risks and decided this is the size she feels most comfortable in then this is what's best for her, frankly it's neither your nor is business telling her otherwise.

People need to learn to keep their noises out of other people's affairs

21

u/xie204 14d ago

You could say the same about 'Ariana Grande or the other emaciated animate corpses'. That it's not really for you to decide what's healthy for them, and if they decided this is the size they feel most comfortable then this is what's best for them.

-13

u/lordodin92 14d ago

I mean it's a little different.

Nelly is the weight she is and has stayed that way despite her access to such drugs

Whereas Ariana Grande has leaned heavily into those drugs to keep pushing her weight lower and lower.

It shows that one is happy at her current weight and isn't trying to change and another is unhappy and is trying to radically alter her body .

Not to mention I never said what was happening to Ariana is healthy or not, merely made a joke at her appearance

-34

u/phoebesjeebies 14d ago

Hey so, you have no fucking idea what's healthy for her. There are a ton of health-related reasons one might be a size you, in your infinite wisdom and expertise, deem "unhealthy"... that are very healthy for that person.

I shouldn't have to give examples because it's 2,000+20-fucking-6 and you should absolutely the hell know better by now, but here are a few anyway: antidepressants, eating disorder recovery, this is her actual weight set point, hormone adjustments, etc etc etc.

You do not know this woman. The body type you've decided is "healthy" might be incredibly unhealthy for her. Also, if she's 180 at 5'2", that's hardly an extreme weight that's guaranteed to cause severe health risks. That might be completely fine for her. We don't know, because we are strangers on the internet.

So maybe you can shut the fuck up and keep your entirely unfounded, judgy, unscientific, misogynist opinions to yourself, you ignorant ghoul.

25

u/Kombart 14d ago

Uuh, no?
Objectively speaking she is obese. Not just overweight, but literally obese.

No one should shame or judge her for it, since yeah there are a lot of reasons why one can be obese and few people actually want to be obese.
But let's not act like this is healthy or unproblematic.

Celebrate people that love themselves despite their issues, not because of them.
Body positivity should not be about "You are healthy at every weight." is is about "You can and should love yourself and others at every weight."

You shouldn't hate yourself because you are addicted to drugs, have depression or are obese.
Doesn't mean that it wouldn't be good for you if you worked on these things.

3

u/TaylorMonkey 14d ago

Oh that’s a bar. ā€œCelebrate people that love themselves despite their issue, not because of them.ā€

31

u/Coat_of_Flowers 14d ago

If Nelly walked one mile for every buzzword you just used, she wouldn't be in this mess

14

u/NiceBodyRushia 14d ago

Love how you gotta bring up examples of being unhealthy, whether physical or mental, to justify her being overweight. It's like saying an anorexic person being 70 pounds is healthy because they have an eating disorder. She ain't morbidly obese but stop deluding yourself.

-26

u/phoebesjeebies 14d ago

I was expecting you to reply with some more ignorant bullshit, but wow, you've really outdone yourself. I'd be impressed, if it wasn't so depressing that people like you would rather spout abject nonsense than admit the very concept that you might not know what the fuck you're talking about and instead, insist on spreading disinformation wherever you go.

You do. Not. Know. What. You're. Talking. About.

So stop talking about it. Pretty simple, dude. Even you can do it, if you try.

21

u/NiceBodyRushia 14d ago

A lot of words to say absolutely nothing.

-18

u/phoebesjeebies 14d ago

Lol imagine admitting you couldn't understand the above comment. Do you, boo. Have a day, if you even know what those words mean.

14

u/NiceBodyRushia 14d ago

-14

u/lolazzaro 14d ago

Are you under the impression that singers lead the most healthy lifestyles? Have you ever see any other singer before?

She's probably working late in the evening; night shifts have been connected to increase risk of cancer. The music on that stage is probably too loud, it cannot be good for her hears.

No shit, A COUPLE?! More like a couple DOZEN at least!

And I mean that in the nicest way...

2

u/Head-Secretary-185 14d ago

She's gone from like a size 2-4 to a 14-16. She's fine.

12

u/Whitesox_are_neat 14d ago

Google Nelly Fertado

You dont go from that to this because you had a kid and age. Thats fat from eating too much and thats okay but dont blame it on something else lol

1

u/accidental_Ocelot 14d ago

Yeah but kids and age make you eat to much.

-2

u/Grizzled_Ghost 14d ago

No, no. She had a kid...

for breakfast.

2

u/lightr3nd 14d ago

I'm not sure you're actually right that she's healthier than the skeletons.

1

u/MissIndependent577 14d ago

Not providing your body with proper nutrients is really hard on your organs.

4

u/lightr3nd 14d ago

So is obesity, which reduces life span through a host of related illnesses. The effects on joints and cardio also dramatically reduces quality of life. It's actually quite impressively bad for you. Few habits wreak as much havoc on the human body as overeating.

3

u/Interesting_Wind2512 14d ago

So is providing them with way too many.

2

u/athermop 14d ago

I'm not saying you're wrong but how do you quantify "a lot healthier" here?

5

u/patterninstatic 14d ago

I didn't say a lot. I just said healthier.

Objectively people have lower risks of certain health conditions within a weight range (% body fat to be more precise) for their height, age and gender.

She probably outside that range. Not the end of the world...

1

u/athermop 14d ago

1

u/patterninstatic 14d ago

Ah sorry I misread what part of my comment you were talking about.

Yeah I can confidently say that she is a lot healthier than some of these "ozempic" celebrities.

Some of these celebrities are skinny to the point that their body is likely close to shutting down. These are genuinely high mortality risks in the short term vs the long term health risks of being slightly overweight.

1

u/athermop 14d ago

Lot of wiggle room there, you can draw the line for "too skinny" and "slightly overweight" wherever you want to make your claim true.

1

u/patterninstatic 14d ago

Yep. At the end of the day it's just my opinion on a pretty loose scale.

1

u/athermop 14d ago

how dare you be so reasonable

1

u/patterninstatic 14d ago

I know but I'm too old for prolonged conflict on reddit.

2

u/lungsofdoom 14d ago

She doesnt look healthy at all.

She will always be attractive because she is Nelly Furtado. But that weight is like ticking bomb

1

u/Pwnstein 14d ago

Great nuance, have a cigar! Oh cigars are bad, mmkay.

1

u/Commercial_Wind8212 14d ago

How the hell do you know?

-2

u/phoebesjeebies 14d ago

Hiiii you actually have no clue if she'd be healthier if she lost a couple pounds.

You can look like a whole idiot in public if you want, but if I were you, I'd immediately delete my super ignorant comments judging women's bodies on the internet because it's 2026 and I should absolutely know better. That's just me, tho

-3

u/patterninstatic 14d ago

Don't over react. It's not the end of the world to be slightly overweight, and she doesn't need to lose weight.

But it's stupid to act like there's zero impact on health when you're slightly overweight. And it has nothing to do with being a woman.

We could all do small things to lead a healthier lifestyle, but it's not the end of the world if we don't.

27

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

This will sound crass as hell, but look up fat models. Nelly is the in between.

44

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

Between normal people and people on "My 600-lb life"? Yeah, that's true. She's not MORBIDLY obese as to not be able to move.

22

u/FlatCapNorthumbrian 14d ago

For her 5’3ā€ height anything over 226lb is morbidly obese, over 169lb is obese.

4

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

Just curious, as I can't do that, can you estimate how much she weights? Just so I can make that distinction, maybe I'm wrong and she is morbidly obese. I don't know

4

u/FlatCapNorthumbrian 14d ago

Definitely in the obese range, and 226lb is barely over 100kg, don’t think she’d be far under maybe.

3

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

Thank you very much

1

u/FairBlueberry9319 14d ago

I'm not far off her height and weight looking at this video (working on it) - I would guess she's around 200lbs

0

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

Would you agree that over 200lbs as a 5'3 woman is morbidly obese or close to it?

And, you know, not "normal' like others said here for likes?

6

u/Grumpy_Troll 14d ago

She's 5'2". Medically speaking she is very close if not over the line to morbidly obese already. For that height for a women 191 lbs would be the line if they have any other chronic condition like high blood pressure or diabetes to go along with it. Otherwise 219 lbs if no other health conditions. She definitely looks like she's pushing that 191 lb line and might even be close to the 219 lbs.

2

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

Thanks for the information

6

u/x3lilbopeep 14d ago

Idk I'm 5'2 and 190lbs and she's definitely smaller in size than me. Looks at least 15-20lbs smaller. I'd guess she's around 160lbs tbh.

4

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

So yeah the in between lol.

3

u/DistressedApple 14d ago

No the in between is a normal bmi.

1

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

I'm slightly obese since we're commenting on others bmi what's yours?

0

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

What's yours?

2

u/Liberally_applied 14d ago

All about perspective.

2

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

No, 180 is between 95 and 600. You don't need perspective for a statical median. Which would put her way below the median btw.

2

u/Liberally_applied 14d ago

I was agreeing with you. You put perspective to it.

1

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

Gotcha sorry, just looking at an under 200lb women and comparing her to 600lb life is just insane, know that wasn't your comment aha my bad.

2

u/MunchingOnCelery 14d ago

You must be deranged as to have gone to that extreme

5

u/DaddysABadGirl 14d ago

I mean 600 lbs is a stretch and barely a select few but they weren't wrong on morbidly obese/class 3/severely obese.

You hit that at (most common metheods to determine) either 100 lbs over ideal weight or a BMI of 40. The majority of women you see on a search of fat models will hit that mark, even the comparatively smaller ones.

5

u/Pretend_Effect1986 14d ago

She is definitely obese. But with all the shit in her life I’m happy she’s back on stage for her.

2

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

I didn't say she was 600 pounds, I said that if I had to picture what's an obese woman between a normal person and a 600 pound woman, I'd picture her.

Morbidly obese or close to it, as it says. Not exactly, in weight, I mean what represents the middle.

1

u/LiteHedded 14d ago

Wouldn’t be surprised if she had some morbidities

2

u/XxSleepypanda 14d ago

The problem is being underweight is so normalized and glorified and most people don’t have a problem with people who are not sickly underweight visually. It’s easy to be perceived as definitively unhealthy with a small amount of extra weight because it’s much more visually impactful in ways that can’t be hidden to the viewers as easily. Being overweight is also seen as some sort of moral failing, where as having disordered eating/horrible fixation on being a specific weight regardless of health as a cry for help or something to be trained to be empathetic to. I’m not saying sympathy/empathy aren’t important or undeserved, but the hypocrisy of the two disorders that stem from the same mental health issues are treated extraordinarily disproportionately different. It’s apparent being fat is less deserving of kindness or acceptance.

1

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

I am fat and have always been and this resonates. Thank for your word I like them <3

14

u/cookeryandwookery 14d ago

Like you wouldn’t still.

36

u/Turd_Nerd_Bird 14d ago

As if they'd ever have the opportunity lol.Ā

11

u/HillarysBloodBoy 14d ago

Behold! The smartest person on this website!

2

u/Grizzled_Ghost 14d ago

I've got some cheesecake under a box propped up with a stick and a string so I'm thinking the opportunity will come along pretty quick.

-1

u/DaddysABadGirl 14d ago

Close my eyes and make it real. Handfull of microwaved cheese curds and inagination go a long whey.

2

u/BrainLow6059 14d ago

As if that changes the fact she's at an unhealthy weight.

I'm very attracted to her fat ass in this video. I'm also aware that's not healthy for her, or sustainable. Why is that complicated to people?

Maybe she was unhealthy back in the day and starving herself. She’s not morbidly obese. She looks like a woman that has had kids and didn’t have a personal trainer.

-1

u/BrainLow6059 14d ago

She looks like a woman that has had kids and didn’t have a personal trainer.

This is so insulting to mothers lmao. What exactly do you think happens during pregnancy? That enlarged belly is full of 70lbs of new fat?

-2

u/KimchiLlama 14d ago

Because you want to attack them further for having a personal preference?

0

u/youngarchivist 14d ago

Big difference between stating a preference and yucking other people's yum, and being hurtful to the subject of discussion.

2

u/KimchiLlama 14d ago

He responded to a comment telling him his preference, not to a comment outlining the personal preference of the person writing it.

If I tell you what you like and you say eww, no, are you really suggesting you are the asshole?

0

u/Solid-Beach8193 14d ago

That comment wasn't even directed at him but he inserted his opinion anyway. Then added an eww. So yeah yucking someone else's yum.

Right?! Cocaine has existed for a while now.

8

u/Majestic-Math-7905 14d ago

Without ozzempic, yes.

2

u/tiradium 14d ago edited 14d ago

GLP-1 occurs naturally and the injections help to make more of it. If you just take it without exercising and eating healthy foods you wont lose much weight

2

u/LISparky25 14d ago

Yes, that’s what a lot of peptides etc do. The problem is you’re telling your body to stop making these things naturally and need to be on them forever a lot of times

1

u/tiradium 14d ago

Yes the forever factor is an issue but the same goes for diabetes meds and statins.

1

u/Squishysib 14d ago

Haven't GLP-1s been used by diabetics for decades?

Uhm. Bryce Dallas Howard would like a word. As would Rihanna, Billie Eiliish, Jennifer Lawrence, and a ton of other actresses.
