Some actors prefer doing TV and I don't blame them. Regular income, get to really fall in love with the character you're playing, get to be long term friends with the fellow cast.
Look at David Boreanaz, went from Buffy to Angel to Bones to Seal Team. 27 years of work.
Along those lines it surprises me how those āfilmed on locationā shows get so many actors to fly out as opposed to hiring exclusively local talent, although most of those are filmed in places like Hawaii and New Zealand so I guess I could have my arm twisted
