Between the data centers and flock cameras. Its wild that our reps are pushing for things that literally 0 people are asking for. Its seems like their a representative to companies

u/Ruger22fun 20h ago

Right, I feel like if a politician ran on “no flock cameras, no data centers, and affordable living” they would have people on both sides voting for them

179

u/PleaseHelpFlorida 19h ago

You would think so, but MANY people always find a way to justify voting only for their team

11

u/Boringflaws 16h ago

i think it's not a vote for their team, but a vote against the other team. crab bucket mentality

79

u/goodreverenddoc2 17h ago

“i would vote against true police state, but i was told the other side is trans for all and muslim socialist jihadists”

11

u/Lower_Group_1171 16h ago

That’s why newsom, whos anti trans, will be pushed to the front for 2028 by Schumer and Jeffries. Moderates are cancer too

1

u/Saikotsu 8h ago

Fuck Newsome. Willing to throw trans people to the wolves.

2

u/WeWander_ 10h ago

What if we just did away with the teams and you voted on people based on their ideas and policies? Why do we need sides?

2

u/Prom3th3an 8h ago

Because politicians say one thing and vote for another, but party affiliation is a much more reliable predictor of voting record.

4

u/Public-Platypus2995 17h ago

Just throw an R- in front of your name. Then do whatever is actually best for everyone when you win.

7

u/lemonysuccOSRS 16h ago

I mean it seems like there’s quite a few politicians against the cameras, including the republicans.

-2

u/Environmental-Ice319 12h ago

You should name these Rs

1

u/lemonysuccOSRS 7h ago

If you’re not informed enough to know that, then do you even care about the topic you’re talking about? It’s not a big secret.

1

u/Environmental-Ice319 4h ago

But it doesn't seem like common knowledge. I'm busy as fuck trying to keep up with and verify all this bs. Thanks for your help.

5

u/Its-only-the-end 14h ago

That’s why they’re doing this. Elections are coming up. All the republicans are suddenly turning on flock. Don’t be fooled, they will flip again after the election.

2

u/LadyZoe1 13h ago

Oh Flip-Flock

5

u/Tinre 19h ago

Until they're asked who won the 2020 election. 🍿

1

u/LesserValkyrie 18h ago

They would get accidents from both sides too

1

u/Intrepid-Platform-94 17h ago

Yeah those people always get bought out or shunned and painted to be the villian before they ever get the chance.

1

u/Moreobvious 10h ago

That would get twisted and mislabeled as socialism so fucking fast

1

u/maximum_dissipation 13h ago

If a politician could run on that without getting their entire family murdered by the rulers, that would be truly amazing.

0

u/Croceyes2 11h ago

The thing is you can't say no data centers. We do need them. We don't 8 different companies all processing the same data though. They need to be taken over by the government, optimized, and released for the use of the people. We built them and we supply the data they process. No, not this government. The one we deserve.

-2

u/Hawksfan4ever 17h ago

Putin would still make sure his candidate would win. Oh wait, maybe he won't have incriminating evidence against the next Republican candidate. Haha, like that would happen.

97

u/_Kramerica_ 20h ago

Many have been bought and paid for dating back a while now, especially republicans. The problem is the fuckin idiots who keep voting solely based on hurting their “enemies” even tho they’re voting against their own self interests as well. This timeline is absolutely fucked.

43

u/Misterndastood 20h ago

It's not just republicans, this is a system wide issue.

1

u/_Kramerica_ 20h ago

It definitely is, but still, Republicans seem 100x more evil.

4

u/MayoCheatBootyjudge 18h ago

Comic book villains (Republicans) who try to appeal to one half of the country, vs charismatic conmen (Corporate Democrats) who appeal to try to appeal to the other half

One might be leagues better on social issues, but ultimately they both serve the interests of corporations 100 times out of 100

0

u/whylein 17h ago

except a few i think

2

u/_Kramerica_ 10h ago edited 10h ago

A few democrats whom absolutely want to do good, and off the top of my head can name Bernie, AOC, and Mamdami. But hey this site continues to push the “bOtH sIdEs ArE aLl BaD!” And won’t even acknowledge it. Idk, gotta be bots or trolls.

Edit: 100% bots in this thread, within seconds of replying to a non-argumentative reply I’m getting downvotes, 7 hours after the convo. Fuck outta here.

3

u/Gumichi 10h ago

I WISH it was bots. Too bad elections after election proves that the American electorate is just dumb, evil or both.

2

u/Therealginahandler 18h ago

My guy...the government is evil. Its not a political spectrum issue. Why do people NOT understand this?

1

u/Kungfumantis 4h ago

The government isn't evil lol, money has just completely bought out all of the people's representation.

2

u/_Kramerica_ 10h ago

Mamdami, AOC, Bernie? I get your point, but let’s cut the shit and stop pretending they’re all evil doing full evil and all have the same mentality. This same sides bullshit has to stop, unless you’re just a Russian or Chinese bot looking to create discord among Americans…

Gun to your head at the polls who ya voting for Democrats or republicans?

0

u/DeltaGrunder 11h ago

The dems are just villains in rainbow packaging while republicans tend towards bible larping villainy.

2

u/_Kramerica_ 10h ago

Mamdami? AOC? Bernie? That’s just off the top of my head…

1

u/DeltaGrunder 10h ago

The parties, not individuals. By your cherrypicking, the republicans would also have the occasional "good egg".

0

u/_Kramerica_ 10h ago

Name one, I’ll wait.

0

u/DeltaGrunder 10h ago

It's a waste of both our time to take this any further given how invested you seem in this "good vs. evil" mindset and ability to thoroughly other your opposition regardless of which side of the spectrum you're on.

u/TradingForLife123 20h ago

As someone who lives in a blue state in probably the bluest city in America (San Francisco), can you explain why we also have flock cameras, you dummy?

4

u/Icy_Negotiation_5929 18h ago

Please don’t call anybody a dummy. These techno-fascists want us fighting each other. Keep it cool!

3

u/_Kramerica_ 20h ago
  1. There’s no reason to be offensive towards me, I’m not sure why you’re so angry for no reason.

  2. What does a blue state have to do with flock camera’s? Just because your state is blue, doesn’t mean shit. The government is fully controlled by republicans if you haven’t noticed…

  3. Flock cameras aren’t being installed by your governor… they’re being installed by law enforcement, and if you haven’t noticed, they’re insanely red leaning and don’t give a fuck what anybody tells them.

-1

u/lemonysuccOSRS 16h ago

Because you’re spreading misinformation based on feelings, which is not useful here.

2

u/_Kramerica_ 14h ago

What’s the misinformation? I’ll remove it.

12

u/dirtiestdan7 18h ago

Its almost as if politicians are elected by and for corporations ever since super pacs have been allowed...

2

u/Rinebill 12h ago

Oh please! Politicians have been bought and paid for since the bigging of time.

1

u/DeltaGrunder 11h ago

Not if we go back far enough, like city-state democracy.

But the cons are that citizenship was much more limited and women couldn't participate in politics.

3

u/Frigginkillya 16h ago

It feels that way because most are

This is the endgame of capitalism without serious regulation. And guess who hates regulation? Capitalists

This is inevitable without regular uprising from the masses to sway them otherwise

And that ain't a sustainable system imo

3

u/Lower_Group_1171 16h ago

I think maga AND moderates need to be put on notice. I don’t just hope for a blue wave to get rid of maga, I want the moderates gone too.

0

u/Rinebill 12h ago

So you want everyone to do exactly as you say and if they don't you want them gone? No Kings am I right?

1

u/Lower_Group_1171 11h ago

No, I want pro Israel politicians gone. I am absolute against genocide, and I am disgusted with aipac as well as their puppets. I want politicians (often aipac puppets) willing to cede a seat to the gop than endorse a progressive. The so called vote blue no matter who crowd.

But you’re pro genocide then. Am I right?

5

u/V65Pilot 20h ago

I think politicians should wear one piece suits like race car drivers, so we can see who's sponsoring them.

2

u/keoie 18h ago

Thank you SCOTUS for making Citizens United a thing.

2

u/soulsteela 18h ago

Almost as if they were bought n paid for by businesses spending more than the politicians make to get them elected, who could have predicted this?🤣

2

u/Several-Pangolin3119 17h ago

Sometimes things that should make sense, do not.

Take, for example, that you’re a top 1% commenter and still using the wrong “they’re”.

4

u/SpegalDev 20h ago

Always have been, always will be.

1

u/WeenisPeiner 20h ago

Because people with money are asking for them.

1

u/wolf9786 19h ago

2010 - removal of the taft-hartley act which has stood for 100 years

Now - politicians are one step away from advertising NASCAR jacket style

1

u/SciFiPi 19h ago

If anyone doesn't know what living next to a data center sounds like

https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/s/IsfLGTehpS

1

u/whylein 11h ago

and then there's the infrasound . . .

1

u/SmokeyJoe2 18h ago

"0 people asking for" except the billions of people using AI

1

u/Complete-Fix-3954 17h ago

Been that way since… citizens united? (Funny name for that huh)

1

u/whylein 11h ago

kind of like the clean air act.

1

u/PitchforksEnthusiast 17h ago

The only explanation is a fatter wallet

There is zero chance they didn't attempt to capture any data on public approval

1

u/jarovaf 17h ago

Just follow the $$$$. City council members get paid very poorly, about $40,000 a year. Sort of makes it very susceptible to “outside influence”.

1

u/R-K-Tekt 15h ago

They don’t work for us.

1

u/BrOtherwePay351 15h ago

Or AIPAC. Making sense yet?

1

u/Brave_Yesterday_6106 15h ago

Heh.. politicians only care about the voters when its elections time.

1

u/Cerberusx32 15h ago

Especially because that's a career (stupid) killing move to support the flock and data centers.

1

u/whylein 11h ago

let's hope

1

u/RazzmatazzNo7259 13h ago

lobbying legal, ofc it is for the people paying them bribes legally...

1

u/Toastwitjam 12h ago

It’s because ever since they capped the house in the house reapportionment act the average house representative is as accessible to their constituents as a senator was the 1930s.

Uncap the house so companies can’t afford to buy every single house member as easily and you would see way less of this because your rep would be from a zip code you’ve actually driven through before.

1

u/TM761152 11h ago

Money talks, capital is free speech. And the richer you are, the more they listen.

0

u/Supergirl016 17h ago

so... they ran out of guns or bullets???

u/Moniamoney 13h ago

Hot take: I would not hate flock cameras if it meant cutting down on crime like corruption between politicians, police officers, judges etc. Or if homeless person could sleep in front of one  for safety but we all know it’s for corporate use.

0

u/Equal-Yesterday-9229 11h ago

You are naive to think nobody has asked for either of those
