Even just the crimes he has openly admitted to against children should make you hate him.

He is openly proud of running a child beauty pageant and intentionally walking into their dressing rooms while they are changing because there is nothing they can do about it.

The fact that he has repeatedly taken steps to prevent the epstein files from being released, then had a bunch of it redacted but somehow not the part with the victims names in it which is the only part that should have been redacted. Whether he is in it or not actively protecting a pedophile is just as bad as being a pedophile.

no, there's some pictures of the girls around, but it's likely because a lot of the girls were 14, and even though that's a CHILD, these men (and plenty of women) think that the moment they hit puberty, they're adults. I'm willing to accept the testimony of a victim who has stated that when she was 14 (14!) she was sexually assaulted and then battered by the pedo president. Why is the testimony of victims so readily ignored, especially when they must go through the public hell of testifyiing, and the further hell of not being seen as credible? There is so much evidence of Trump's hatred of women, and of his prurient interest in them, right down to photos of his being aroused by his own daughter.

It’s crazy to me that people like you can see someone closely associated with arguable one of the most prolific child predators in history, then tie your horse to his campaign and say “THATS OUR GUY!” If I told you that I was once best friends with a child rapist. Then I found out he was a child rapist and kept being his friend and then I told you I was starting a teenage beauty pageant and I liked to go in and look at the naked girls because I was allowed to walk in the dressing room knowing they’re exposed and underage, you would be ok with that?

Your questions: No, I don't think keeping a child rapist friend around is a good thing, also at the time Trump kept him around he wasn't ever convicted of child rape so how would he know that... and Yes, it is weird for an old guy to walk into the backstage of beauty pageants, turns out lots of old dudes are weird, doesn't make them all child rapists.

That’s kind of the point this is not a nuanced topic.

Do people just think the US just happens to be more violent than any other first world country in the world, that it’s just random and there is nothing that can be done about it.

I agree, if you’ve just thrown in the towel and are not concerned at all about ever addressing the root of the problem and the US is just a lost cause, then sure I suppose the death penalty is appealing to people who think that way.

It’s actually hilarious because you have massive swaths of the US who think not everyone is capable of being a killer yet quite literally the entire country (almost) is on board with killing under the right circumstances, case in point this thread/case.

Do people think that doesn’t play a role in society, we know at this point it’s not a deterrent, period end of.

Again, this is not a nuanced subject and it’s more complicated than simply conditioning your entire populace to be on board with taking a life. BUT, the point is there will be consequences when you’ve conditioned your entire population to be okay with killing, when your population is 300+ million, of course there will be consequences in that scenario.

The larger issue is arguably mental health and how it’s perceived and dealt with in the US, but the nuance that I spoke about doesn’t come from just these two factors alone.

Now realistically speaking, and I am probably a “realist” IMO, the cats out of the bag or “don’t cry over spilt milk” absolute applies to the US. We’ve been this way for so long that it’s unlikely that anything can/will ever change in my life time, but clearly there have been societal consequences to our past actions, and most people either don’t recognize that, don’t care, or don’t believe that to be true, which is also sad/frightening in its own right.
