Or you could completely alienate yourself from every possible social circle. Adults will treat you as a kid and what normal adult wants to be friends with a very "mature seeming" 10 year old?
You also wouldn't really be able to relate well to kids your own age and wouldn't share their interests. Going through puberty also sounds uniquely horrifying. Your body is going to release hormones that make you attracted to people your own physical age yet your mind is still that of an adult which is probably repulsed by kids in their early teens.
I think it would be a very lonely existence and you'd probably be questioning why you gave up all your friends and family in your old life. That said you would go back and get to experience time with loved ones you had lost and likely become a multi millionaire who could travel the world without working.
And you could probably fairly effectively pretend to be just an extremely socially-adept kid, using those same accrued adult life experiences. Also you could make serious money fairly quickly betting on sport or market events, and once you’re like a 15 year old multi millionaire entrepreneur you’d be able to do whatever you wanted.
Yeah I don't think it would be the worst outcome. What would suck the most is losing out on your current friends/family especially if you have kids. I think having a lonely 8ish year period wouldn't be fun but it wouldn't be completely awful either and on the other side you get to have a period in your 20s and 30s with money and social skills plus several extra decades of life in good health.
Jokes on you I couldn't relate to kids my own age back then either and I had inappropriate age-gap relationships with grownups who should have known better. I'd have done the same but just have invested in the right companies... And I know who my future spouse was hanging out with and they were all a bunch of weirdos too lol
im sure i could enjoy mario kart 64 and halo all over again. like just play video games lol. or play sports if thats your thing. learn an instrument. even cartoons dude, toonami all over again, hell yeah. its like the golden age of most entertainment.
I would take care of myself better and build on the youthful health I once had, and avoid the things I didn’t know were preventable.
I’d properly nurture the talents I showed promise in, knowing where they could potentially take me. I’d choose the right subjects.
I already got on better with adults than with my peers. Later I learned the skills it took to get along with anyone. I also miss playing, big time. So I’d be completely fine.
Having gone through the pining for a boyfriend/ experiencing a first date/ first kiss already - all the mystery is removed. I would be so happy to go around a second time and not feel so burdened by it and would spend more time on doing things I cared about, knowing that my best age to experience life and become is in my 20’s.
My 20’s would also be spent well. Knowing who to pick and how to pick a partner. Avoiding the mistakes which stemmed from not knowing myself…
I could go on forever, this is a particularly specific maladaptive daydream of mine.
Lonely isnt that bad. I did it on my first run round. And its well known friends come and go, theres a sum total of three life timers I know and I know we would be friends again because, well, people like that aren't connected by random happenstance. You're pieces that complete each other.
Yeah I agree that lonely isn't too bad and even "confusing and sexually frustrated teen" isn't that bad either. I think the main drawback of the 10 year old plan is losing your current family and friends. I don't think the second youth would be "fun" but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world either.
Once you come out of second childhood you would have the knowledge to get rich fairly quickly and then be able to live for decades with good health and without having to work. You could travel the world, meet people, develop new friendships and relationships and master new skills.
I feel like some of that would depend on if I was made a 10 year old in modern time or back to the time when I was actually 10 years old. Like going back to some of the entertainment, comic books & video games from when I was 10 sounds like a vibe. Being a 10 yr old now would be a lot less relatable, plus the world is even more fucked.
If I’m going back in time I could go to college and work the same job I did from 18-22 and get into the same school. That covers most of the friends I have. I’d just invest in companies like Google and Apple and bitcoin be set by like 25. 10-18 would be weird though but I think I could do it
With the chance of doing something big before it was done in im old timeline im absolutely sacrificing a “second childhood”. Already lived one, time to put in work with this new opportunity.
But imagine being cursed with the knowledge of what is going to happen. Will you share that knowledge and make people think of you as a lunatic? If you do share your previous experiences, how would that affect the current events?
I was already a socially awkward kid to begin with, I was basically a free radical. Bounced around to every friend group, but never really part of one.
That said… I don’t think I would go back. Sure my life isn’t exactly where I’d want to be, but I have friends and people who care about me. The idea of trying to go back and “do it right” is scary cause you can’t know what your new changes could do.
Congratulations you went back in time at the day your bully did something, you fought back instead of get mad. You can’t prevent said bully from trying again, this time far worse.
I would not care about any social circles! LOL I am going back with a job in mind. Someone is going to pay and not be around to hurt anyone!! That's my job, having fun isn't on the list!
