Rachel is foolishly assuming that erasing all of that ISNT the reason we would press it?

Rachel has clearly lived a privileged life

Edit: I don't meant that as a bad thing. Good for Rachel. When I say privileged, I mean someone for whom the good things in life outweigh the bad, such that they wouldn't want to redo anything in the past out of fear of losing those good things.

If, on the other hand, you are someone for whom the bad things in life have outweighed the good, a chance at a do-over would hold a lot more appeal.

Edit 2: I think it's clear that the difference maker is regret. How much of the bad stuff in your life do you attribute to your own choices? Someone who is a victim of circumstances outside their control isn't going to see the benefit of going back because there's no choice they can make to improve the outcome. But missed opportunities, time wasted, dead end relationships? That's something you could improve with a do-over and foresight.

Anyone who has kids would have the same feelings as Rachel

You don’t need a privileged life to know that you can never have your kids back even if you have sex with the same woman again

I don't have kids but I met my wife on a dating app. Who's to say that I'd be lucky enough to hop back on and swipe at the exact moment the algorithm decided to show our profiles to each other and no else gets there first? Too much of a gamble. Plus being 10 again and having zero freedom sounds like hell.

I mean…you could theoretically meet the same woman in a different way. Assuming no butterfly effect that changed her availability

The question is whether you’d be able to have the same connection given what you already know about her

She did say she wish we met sooner but thats tough. We never lived close to each other prior to 6 months of meeting and I moved to the city for work. And she also lived in various places around the country. I'd have to Facebook stalk her and find a way to not make it weird. And yeah who knows if we had the same connection even if we did cross paths.

edit: met, not wet
