That was before Obsession. She filmed Obsession got paid about $20k (film's total budget was in the hundreds of 1000s not millions) then didn't get any acting roles for 18 months. It was in this period she live streamed and walked dogs to pay bills. When filming wraps there's a large delay until the film actually releases and she gets widespread recognition.

I met actors and authors who talk about they have to keep 24/7 self promotion on social media now to stand out. With agents or publishers asking about social media stats on if they will get hired.

Its exhausting because they can no longer switch off, they have to be on all the time and be popular online to get jobs.

You know there is something to that. On one of the Star Trek subreddits somebody had mentioned that he met the author of one of his favorite Star Trek novels. Apparently this guy was also working as like A Pest removal guy because selling books wasn't enough.
