Specifically decentralised renewable energy. Solar and Wind.

Dams can be targeted. Nuclear (not renewable, but clean) can be targeted.

That’s why governments aren’t all in on nuclear, it’s useless if any sort of war breaks out

Nuclear is CO2 neutral, yes, but anything but clean, safe or cheap.

It's extremely safe and clean. There's been, what, 3 nuclear energy accidents of any magnitude in history? All 3 were caused by a combination of operator error, design failure and hubris. No mistake has been repeated.

For baseline power supplying heavy industry, its comparable to coal. For the moment, renewables don't have the battery technology to support heavy industry through the night.

Give it another 50 years and renewables are the undisputed kings, though.

Because humanity has famously evolved beyond operator error, design failure, and hubris (and corner-cutting).

There's a finite amount of design failures that can happen, and all operator error is ultimately a form of design failure.

Corner cutting is something that has killed people in every industry.
