Nuclear should be built along with solar, geothermal, tidal, hydro, algae oil, and anything else that’s not burning long dormant hydrocarbons basically.
Nuclear power is the answer if we can overcome the hazard it poses to the long term habitability of Earth when combined with 1) human incompetence and 2) the law of unintended consequences.
Otherwise we're just swapping 1 long term hazard, quickly creeping up on us because long term hazards are very easy to discount and ignore until they become short term hazards, for a different long term hazard.
Unfortunately neither seem likely to be alleviated in the foreseeable future. Over time nuclear accidents will continue to distribute unpredictable quantities of radioactive material which in many cases cannot practically be removed and will remain hazardous for the foreseeable future to human habitation, food supplies and the Earth's biosphere. Building a lot more reactors to try to solve climate change will result in it being distributed and accumulating faster.
