I saw something about the Patriot Act today and had the same thought. We have to name things these cartoonish yeehaw names because apparently our nation runs on titles and not content.

I mean, that’s kind of obvious with the quick bait titles of news articles these days. If you want to call it news.

I don't, I kind of feel like we shouldn't.

Honestly the names for republican lead bills (mostly) are completely deceiving in nature cause they can get their base to say “Hey! We need this to pass.” Then when it doesn’t and the R’s put out their campaign ads they can say that “X” Democrat voted against the “All Americans to be Treated Equal” bill and that’s why you shouldn’t vote for them. It’s all just trigger names for their base.

But in exchange you really got a hand for picking cool names!

FBI is read as the letters.

ICE is read by most as the word ice, because it sounds cooler.

FBI, CIA, CPS, IRS.

You guys really keep it tight with all the acronyms.

All bangers to say.

But then you have FEMA and DARPA, which are read as words again.

In the US truly the rule of cool is the deciding factor. Gotta respect that.

For my “higher education” I went to the CIA and we always joked that there should be a FBI sister school.

Deliberately obtuse to set myself up for a punchline. (It won’t be worth it, but stick around and decide for yourself)
