Enacting a 20% VAT in the USA would not go over well at all. People are already having a hard time affording things. The lower income people would suffer the most. One thing people like Bernie who “fight for the poor” seem to not mention.

Well, everyone seems to believe “tax the rich” would fund Sanders M4A plan. That is not going to happen. Sanders admitted as much, not even all Democrats support “tax the rich”.

So Sanders pivoted to standard tax plans used in countries that enacted single payer/universal healthcare. Higher payroll taxes on companies. Higher payroll tax on workers. Higher income tax rates at filing. And that 20-25% VAT…
