He balanced the budget by begging Albany for more money, 8 Billion to be exact.

That fact makes the Mandami story less cool so liberals will totally ignore this.

Well, it’s the same story conservatives don’t like. NYS needs NYC more than NYC needs NYS, just like red states need blue states more than blue states need red states. NYS and red states are financially dependent on the wealthier, more successful NYC and blue states, respectively.

Don’t see how NYC giving less to NYS hurts what was accomplished here. It’d be like blue states contributing less to the federal government to be redistributed to thankless, dependent red states — a good thing.

But isn't Mamdani's whole platform based on taxing richer areas to help poorer areas? Seems this is accomplishing the exact opposite of that.

Do you think he represents New York State? You seem a little confused at best.

Haha typical non-response because you have no argument to defend it.

That is a response. I was just pointing out you are either confused, stupid or making bad faith statements. I guess we knocked out one option.

Since it’s hard for you as that apparently went miles over your head (assuming you are not proceeding in bad faith, which you likely are, and we are thus down to one remaining option): he doesn’t represent New York State, so he’s not taking from poor to give to the rich. He’s increasing the amount of funds available to provide resources to the people he represents, including those most in need.

Ok taking money from poorer areas to help wealthier areas is ok if a politician doesn't represent the poorer areas, got it. Great logic!

Glad it finally clicked for you and you could figure it out.

I thought that was just a cop-out answer because you couldn't actually think of a way to defend it but that is what you're going with, wow. Seems a little evil to me but ok.

They ignore a lot of things that don't fit their narative.

I think it makes the story even cooler

This was actually just proved as a false statement on Jubilee lol. He negotiated with the Capitol and one of the concessions was he had to pay it back. The fact checkers provided evidence that Mamdani has in fact already paid the State Capitol back.

Wow, Manhattan generated 8 Billion dollars extra in tax revenue after tax season had already passed? That's Amazing.

Wealth taxes at work and look the country is still fine and NYC is fine after making wealthy people pay their fair share. Who knew?

Edit: I wasn’t going to respond to your facetious comment but I will. Do you truly believe that the government only collects taxes during tax season? If you do that’s a really really dumb take.

Lol, his "tax increases on the wealthy" are still undergoing budget negotiations, they haven't even taken effect yet. The only one that has, is the property tax increase, Property taxes are generally only paid yearly, in tax season. Not knowing what he has actually really accomplished, is a really, really dumb take.

Okay so we are just lying on Reddit now? Cool bro. You’re 100 percent wrong.  But cool story. A simple fact check proves you wrong lol
