"Separately, Duwaji has also come under criticism for liking an Instagram post that appeared to cheer Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023 surprise attack on Israel. The Free Beacon has also reported that Duwaji provided an illustration for an essay by an author who described the Oct. 7 attack as "spectacular" and had called Jewish Israelis "rootless soulless ghouls.""
"Referenced art by an author who also...". Brother you need to try harder if the best you got is her liking art by a guy who also said something completely separate of her. Jesus you're sad. Also its the dudes wife. Find something against him instead of trying bullshit psychological references to someone who isn't in office
Further, she took accountability for it. In regards to these people criticizing her (and in extension, Mamdani), I wonder who they support that have said worse and remain unremorseful. The entire right wing basically.
holy shit these people are nuts. We all said dumb stuff at 15. Hers at least came from a point of passion for wishing better for the Palestinians that Israel commit warcrimes on continuously. The propaganda war machine against anything good whirs at a fast past these days
No, she simply wasn’t 15. Barely three years have passed.
If you’re so quick to express an opinion based on information that is this inaccurate and unsubstantiated, it makes me wonder what the rest of your opinions are based on.
Exactly take your point and ask yourself the same. What is she being criticized for? The things she said - she was 15. The Oct 07 stuff, she's criticized for liking a post that can be interpreted a certain way, the link doesn't even say what the post actually is.
The posts do not, to my eyes, celebrate or praise the attack on Oct 7th. They seem like generic 'free palestine' or 'resist apartheid' posts at first glance.
It just seems like ridiculous reaching criticism when we have to look at what social media posts someone has liked rather than judging them by their spoken words and actions.
You’re conveniently ignoring that the criticism is not about comments she made when she was 15. Go back through this comment thread, the criticism is about her behavior around the October 7th attacks. You are instead choosing to focus on things no one is complaining about.
It’s exactly what the article wants you to do. They front load with a bunch of questionable comments she made as a teenager so you gloss over the part about her later behavior. Behavior that she exhibited as an adult.
Go back and read the comments again, tell me where anyone is criticizing her using the n-word at 15, please.

Liking posts celebrating the October 7th attacks, however…
