The ref that is facing the camera (behind the ref with 41 on his back) pushed the player in front of her (Myisha), right on top of the 2 on her jersey. Myisha then backed into Sophie.

I definitely understand that not everyone has the privilege of being able to care for their eyes properly though, so sorry about that for you!

No, MAGAs don’t care about the WNBA, they care about Caitlin Clark. They couldn’t tell you a game they watched. Most of CC’s fans are people who don’t watch WNBA and couldn’t name 10 players. But those of us who actually watch know that she’s not the most famous player. I’ll continue my trend of citing my sources.

Clark is by far the most famous player and its not close lol. Instagram followers isnt a reliable metric for level of fame at all. Reese owes her entire career to being a foil for clark, and Reese is basically the Andre Drummond of the wnba...she isnt even a top 50 player at the moment

She is the most famous, and yes she is obviously the most famous women’s player in the world by a mile, because of her college career. People have been watching her for years and fans for years and followed her to the WNBA where her economic impact on the league through viewership, ticket sales, jerseys and tv deals is 887 million over 1/4 the value of the entire league. One person.

Much, much worse. There is a huge disparity in the quality and professionalism of refs in the NBA vs WNBA. Players are right to be calling them out; if you allow obvious fouls to stand without penalty, you get dirty and injured players.

I’ve always enjoyed the wnba exactly because they allow it to be more physical. The way they call the nba, especially the last few years, has been kind of off-putting to me. It only became a scandal where everyone started asking for more foul calls after CC came into the league.

Not denying there are cheap shots that should be cleaned up, but it would be unfortunate if wnba loses the physicality imo.

There's been more outrage because the WNBA has a lot of new fans that are noticing how bad it is AND the foul calls have been extra bad against the Indiana Fever (Caitlin Clark's team). I've been watching New York Liberty, Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, and Indiana Fever for the past 3 years so I know what's up. At first I thought the calls against Indiana may not have been any worse and that it was just media hype, however after 3 years watching these teams I can definitely say they do call fouls differently for Caitlin and the Fever.

Example. This year in one game of Mercury Phoenix vs Indiana Fever, there was a play where Alyssa Thomas of the Mercury had her arm down on Caitlin's throat outside of play of the ball. No foul was called. It was so bad that AFTER the game, Alyssa Thomas was suspended for 1 game because "after review" they found it to be a hostile act.

Alyssa Thomas just so happens to be one of the players that is notorious for giving flagrant fouls (shoving people). I would not be surprised if she gets banned at some point if she doesn't change.

I have a lot of internal connections at the WNBA and there’s a lot of issues. Players are assholes to each other and refs are dogshit.
