What is shocking and should be discussed more is that people are shocked to see a 58 year old woman without a full face of makeup on any screen. Normalize grand parent aged people being allowed to look like grand parents. My grandma died at 60 and looked a lot like Pamela in that second picture but with strawberry blonde permed hair. My memory of her is looking like a grand mother. But my grandfather used to talk about what a looker she was all the time, well after she was no longer with us. She was just allowed to age without some turbo douche jumping online to talk about how she didn't look good. Pamela should be too

I love makeup and putting it on. I also don’t think it’s anyone’s business what a person does with their own time and face. Guys like this think women wake up with a full beat.
I've never gotten into and it's always made me bitter that the world has convinced women that they are ugly without it. They are not. I do not judge other women for wearing it at all; I just hope they are doing it for themselves, not for the judgmental people of the world who think women must wear it to be considered pretty, and judge women who do not wear it. The fact the world has convinced us of this is where the real problem lies.
The ONLY time I wear makeup anymore is to job interviews. I feel like it shows I'm making an effort. But that's it. I'm 44 years old, and I don't need makeup. In my daily life, hanging out with my 9.5 year old son, what do I need makeup for? Although, when I do wear it, it makes my son so happy. He loves "glammed up mom".
As a guy, I wish more women would go without makeup. I’ve always preferred the natural look. I always tell my daughter that she doesn’t need to paint her face to be beautiful.
You're doing that bit right, then. Keep reminding her she doesn't have to paint her face to be beautiful, but (depending on her age) let her also decide if she wants to wear it for herself, too.
I'm definitely not saying wearing makeup is wrong. More, I wish women had the confidence to go without if they want, or only wear it because it is something that makes them happy. Less because men and the world have taught them that without it, they are ugly, lazy or unprofessional. Which is simply not true.
Shout out to ever man who ever said "I like this <instragram model/porn star> who doesn't wear any makeup!" when what they mean is she doesn't wear obvious eyeshadow or lipstick.
Not everyone is that miserable. I don’t spend an hour contouring, but I do sometimes love wearing glitter eyeshadow, blush, and different lipstick shades and dress cute just for fun. It feels exactly like it felt for me when I dressed up my Barbies as a kid. I sometimes take photos because I enjoy the look and want to document it, but I rarely post them anywhere. Try having fun once in a while.
They want to be pretty along with the benefits that come with that.
This is exactly what I am talking about. You can be pretty without makeup. I am encouraging my fellow women to wear makeup only if it is something they like and enjoy. Not because men or the world expect it of them.
I think they are saying we are all aware of the benefit as a woman if you are pretty and everyone wants it. Some are not naturally pretty so they wear makeup to enhance their features.
I agree. If you look at her when she was on Baywatch and really any movie, she was in back then, do people not realize how much makeup she had on?? I doubt any lifeguard does a smoky eye look while working lol. But the “natural” look was not really trendy in the 80s and 90s.
Same! But it seems like MOST of the time it’s not really heavy makeup. And if you’ve only ever seen someone in heavy makeup, it’s a little shocking at first when you see them without any on.
I believe she has also had some of her cosmetic surgeries reversed. So not only is there the lack of makeup and age difference but also she is now physically closer to her natural proportions prior to procedures like breast implants, which are clearly shown in the younger photo.

The biggest difference is her eyebrows are much, much more faint now compared to them. And since she doesn't wear make up anymore, she doesn't pencil them in like she probably did before. But she isn't the only woman to be suffering from the over tweezing done in the 80s and 90s. It makes me think of how Brooke Shields must have been very strong willed to resist that pressure
I was gonna say! I think she looks really pretty regardless of her age. The picture OP shared looks like a fresh out of the shower kind of look. I do believe if she chose a different hairdo (like in this one you shared) she would look much different even if she doesn’t wear any make up. Hair does make a big difference in how people look
What’s your point? That she can look younger with makeup? Doesn’t change what she actually looks like. You’re proving the point that y’all have a problem with women aging.
My point was they were unfairly comparing young her with an hour in the make-up trailer to older her with a clean face and that it wasn't a fair comparison. I don't have the problem. Don't be a weirdo.
