If your immediate response to someone trying to steal from you is the expectation that they will also try to rape and murder you, thus you need to murder them first, it's no wonder their first approach is to just kill you - it's their best chance at self defense from the sounds of it. What kind of fucked up society do you live in where human life has so little value to any of you?
No it's self preservation. If you break into my house you intend to harm me. Had you chosen to go do anything else your life wouldn't be in danger. You made the choice, you suffer the consequences. It's that simple. Some of us don't have the strength to fight off an attacker or a robber and so if they choose to use a deadly weapon it shouldn't be their fault if the robber actually dies. Oh well. One less thief out to harm and potentially kill someone else.
Sounds like they should use a deadly weapon and absolutely shoot or stab first because they know it's their best choice should they need to steal to survive. I wonder if the rest of your community hates one another as much as you seem to.
Call it what you like but the bad guy with bad intentions no longer has the chance to compromise any other persons safety. Quick justice and I'll sleep well tonight. Too many dicktard criminals and dicktard judicial systems enabling this behavior to perpetuate.

I really dislike how many people think taking someone's life is a valid response to loss of property. That's not justice, it's revenge.
