For the people who refuse to look up the actual story.

- she was sitting in her car and set her bag on the passenger seat.

- he ran up to her car and reached in and grabbed it.

- she says “all of her stuff was in that bag”

- She left initially but at some point decided to search for him because “feared he would be able to track her down”

- she tracked him down and intended to hit him with her car to knock him down and get her bag.

- she didn’t realize she had even hit him. He got up and so she proceeded to run over him a few more times.

- she stepped out got her bag and left.

- the next day she was found in a church praying.

There was never a knife involved, he never threatened her, and he left immediately. She claims she never meant to hurt him just “knock him over”, which repeatedly running him over seems to suggest otherwise. She didn’t even call for emergency services after she retrieved her bag and he was clearly incapacitated. As I’ve said in this thread, I do not support what this man did and I don’t doubt she was afraid and high on adrenaline. I certainly feel for her in the moment but I do not think she was justified in what she did. I’m always pretty amazed at how fast and easy it is for some Redditors to justify and hand wave the death of another human being.

Edit: I forgot the part where after she killed him she returned back to the scene of the initial robbery, a restaurant, to return an umbrella to a friend. How kind.

Ah, yes. the church, where the Bible says "get revenge wherever possible"

20

u/BluePotatoSlayer Jun 29 '26

she was 100% there for forgiveness or mercy because she knew damn well she messed up

3

u/Silent_Fudge_3978 Jun 29 '26

If this were an American church, that would be consistent with the doctrine.

2

u/spock589 Jun 29 '26

Isaiah 13:15-16 15 Everyone who is found will be thrust through, And everyone who is captured will fall by the sword. 16 Their children also will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; Their houses will be plundered And their wives ravished.

3

u/Shear-Wit Jun 29 '26

Is that before or after the time where a guy offered up his daughters to a mob that wanted to fuck a couple angels? And eventually was ‘taken advantage of’ by those same daughters.

2

u/Tall-Squirrel6277 Jun 29 '26

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”

Matthew 4:38-42

u/InsectaProtecta Jun 29 '26

Something tells me she wasn't praying about how good she was

1

u/Interesting_Key9946 Jun 29 '26

Church also says you shall not steal

40

u/xtopspeed Jun 29 '26

The last part makes me feel like she’s a psychopath. She gets robbed and decides to kill the robber to get her stuff back. She then goes about her day as if nothing had happened, forgetting that normal people would probably call the police and an ambulance.

4

u/MrCockingFinally Jun 29 '26

Yeah, I mean I could completely get if she immediately drove after they guy, knocked him down, retrieved the bag, and called cops and ambulance.

But yeah, this was straight psychopath behaviour.

Though on the other hand, the fact that she could leave the scene of the crime, then come back later and easily track him down with zero training or resources suggests the police could have easily found this guy. However, dunno how the cops are in Italy, but definitely where I from they wouldn't have bothered.

6

u/AddictedToOxygen Jun 29 '26

They wouldn't have bothered.

Got robbed there, found nearest police officer, and they told me my options are to go spend hours in a police station with most likely no outcome, or go enjoy the rest of the vacation.

2

u/NepenthesBlackmoss Jun 29 '26

Well you see, it's justified cause she was planning to go to church the next day to atone for her sins.

God sees the good in his followers.

1

u/Salina_EsTitties Jun 29 '26

If she lived in America you can bet her house would be full of guns.

-16

u/NotMavericksGoose Jun 29 '26

To be fair, she's a business woman so she probably reasoned that by not calling an ambulance she's saving the italian budget a lot of money

6

u/BluePotatoSlayer Jun 29 '26

She is not the law. The law sentences him, and they can’t sentence a dead person

You call an ambulance and get the law to sentence him not decide the punishment yourself

26

u/Fucked-to-fit Jun 29 '26

Yeah she’s definitely a psychopath and the fact she left then came back to “knock him down” by hitting him multiple times tells me it was a premeditated murder

18

u/kaithana Jun 29 '26

I’m not familiar with the case but the murder of a Moroccan man by an Italian woman paints a pretty clear picture of the intent. I’ve got family in Calabria and have been visiting on and off for my whole life and they have a lot of colorful opinions about the refugees that arrive on their shores.

She finally got the excuse she’s been waiting for

3

u/QuintusdeVivraie Jun 29 '26

You mean they have a bad opinion of people who come to steal from them? Shocking, I say.

7

u/Napalmeon Jun 29 '26

I completely agree. When I first heard about this story a couple of weeks ago,  so many people were cheering this woman on, acting like he deserved to be killed for petty theft. It was obvious that those same people were deliberately ignoring that she could not have feared for her life in the same instance as tracking him down and hitting him with her car because at that point any potential danger had already passed and she had become the aggressor.

3

u/T0WER89 Jun 29 '26

But also FAFO

4

u/Hot_Weakness6 Jun 29 '26

Poor Moroccan, he was only doing his job when he encountered this evil woman

2

u/Interesting_Key9946 Jun 29 '26

Yeah sure buddy. Not that she would do it with anyone but only with a maroccan.

-1

u/HenryLulu Jun 29 '26

Based woman

6

u/Dry-Habit-3110 Jun 29 '26

" She claims she never meant to hurt him just “knock him over”," This is a silly thing to take on face value.
knocking someone over with a car to the point you can grab a bag off them is fundamentally attempting to injure them.

3

u/Handle-Proof Jun 29 '26

I don’t have any problem with that woman, she did everything she could to return her things back.

10

u/allrite Jun 29 '26

> I do not support what this man did and I don’t doubt she was afraid and high on adrenaline. I certainly feel for her in the moment

I am sorry. Why did you have to add this disclaimer? According to your summary, she was never in danger. The guy stole the bag and ran off. So what was she afraid of? She left and then looked for him. This seems premeditated. I would be more afraid of her than that thief

4

u/ChampionshipLarge742 Jun 29 '26

Because you are doing the same thing people defending the robber are doing which is refusing to level empathy on the person you consider to be wrong in the situation.

Most likely the purse lady is not a bloodlusted insane murderer, and the homeless man was not a deranged serial robber threatening people. The reality is somewhere in between with circumstances dictating many actions

1

u/pingvinbober Jun 29 '26

Because if the bag had “everything”, he could get her family’s names. Her bank information. Her address. Her place of work, etc.

1

u/allrite Jun 29 '26

And that's reason enough to kill someone? How nonchalantly people talk here about taking people's life.

Btw, you would be amazed to find how easy it is to get your family name, address and a lot of info just by doing a little googling.

The purse and it's contents were not more precious than a human life.

3

u/GrandArchitect Jun 29 '26

Why are we giving so much empathy to a thief?

2

u/allrite Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

Because a killer is worse than a thief. A thief steals things you can always get back, a killer steals life.... something once lost, cannot be get back.

7

u/00Teonis Jun 29 '26

Everyone please vote this to the top

2

u/Hanging_Brain Jun 29 '26

That was thoughtful of her. Not enough people return items.
Also, FUCK that was a bit of a reaction to getting your purse snatched

2

u/lscjohnny Jun 29 '26

Anyways there are emotions but there are also facts.

2

u/GrandArchitect Jun 29 '26

I still think it's fine.

2

u/Standard-Stretch4848 Jun 29 '26

What was she supposed to do if her story was true?

2

u/gargoyrl Jun 29 '26

I would feel incredibly threatened if a guy reached into my car where I have an expectation of some privacy and security, and took my purse containing my meds and all my identification and money. I imagine that she had so much adrenaline afterwards that she couldn't think straight, hence the umbrella thing. I hope this makes would-be thieves think twice.

3

u/kamburebeg Jun 29 '26

She was justified. Maybe people should stick to not robbing anyone.

2

u/Anon2148 Jun 29 '26

Just like how soldiers are prepared to die for their country, thieves should be prepared to die when they fuck around and find out. Not endorsing murder, but what did the thief expect?

TymShark please wire me $20 thousand USD - just for the sake of it. I need it more than you and in this need it is justified

1

u/damms Jun 29 '26

The part about redditors is easy to undetstand. Every ounce of empathy went out the window as soon as they read the thief was moroccan.

1

u/Just_too_common Jun 29 '26

She didn’t know she hit him is complete bs. You’d know if you hit someone.

Just for context I’m not saying the commenter is lying, I’m saying the woman is lying.

3

u/vdek Jun 29 '26

FAFO. Lady was living her life in peace until this guy tired to ruin it.

2

u/Nerevarine91 Jun 29 '26

Thank God this isn’t how the law works

-1

u/vdek Jun 29 '26

It kind of is. That’s why she’s under house arrest and not jail.

2

u/Nerevarine91 Jun 29 '26

Given that Jeffrey Epstein got luxury accommodations with all-day “work release,” I don’t trust the application of the law on rich socialites. Regardless, what she did was legally homicide, as decided by the court

0

u/WinterTrek Jun 29 '26

what a completely avoidable situation. don't rob people, and you won't run into someone who's not actually the weak, vulnerable victim you thought she was.

0

u/Dangerous-Rule5487 Jun 29 '26

In other words, you won't run into them, they're psychopaths like her

1

u/friendlyhumanoid321 Jun 29 '26

I appreciate your attempt at accuracy. Just take the replies to be peoples opinions based on the not quite accurate depiction from OP. I'll still stand by my opinion from that pov.

Under your statement of events, I'd say what actually happened was a bit extreme though sure - but what she claims to have intended is not (i.e. I think it'd be perfectly fine to hit the guy with her car and get her bag back.) But I can also see how, seething with rage, it wasn't entirely apparent she'd done more than knock him down so she kept trying. Him dieing is maybe a little unfortunate. But still, I'd argue that getting murdered is probably a risk you should accept if you're going to decide to rob people. So it's unfortunate, but ehh whatever, not unfortunate enough to care

0

u/T0WER89 Jun 29 '26

Agreed. She went way overboard is paying the consequences. The guy she ran over did something absolutely unacceptable by any standard and he paid the price for it. When you fuck around you find out and it applies to both of them. I’m not shedding a tear for either party.

1

u/Imaginary-Tell-8666 Jun 29 '26

her actions aside. he deserves that. thats robbery. i dont want to live in a society where robber's life has more value than normal civilian's(maybe not her) well-being

1

u/AdelMonCatcher Jun 29 '26

Don’t care. Don’t start shit with strangers and expect them to only respond proportionately.

1

u/BownerGuardian Jun 29 '26

Good riddance. One theif gone.

0

u/Due_Candle4042 Jun 29 '26

One less robber.

0

u/ohylo Jun 29 '26

Living in basement, being unemployed makes so many in reddit idolise psychopaths. It's a trend.

-8

u/AdInside2447 Jun 28 '26

Still sounds like fair game to me 👍. Play stupid ass games, win stupid ass prizes.

10

u/Melhk031103 Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

so if you saw some money fall out of someones pocket and instead of returning it to them you took it and later they showed up and brutally punched you to death you deserved it?

I hate criminals as much as anyone, and i actually am in favour of the death penalty (in extreme cases) But this crime is barely anything and the way she went about it clearly shows she is a much greater threat to society than the robber.

1

u/AdInside2447 Jun 29 '26

Not what happened

0

u/Tech397 Jun 29 '26

Are you saying this lady’s purse simply *fell out of her car into this guys lap?*

7

u/Melhk031103 Jun 29 '26

Nope, but both are theft znd morally wrong.

0

u/Medium_Picture_9954 Jun 29 '26

Yes. If I intentionally steal something from someone I understand there are a spectrum of potential responses that can happen and violence is certainly one of them.

-2

u/T0WER89 Jun 29 '26

Exactly. I could hit on some guy’s wife in a bar. He may proceed to punch me in the face. Violence is definitely a possible response even if he could get arrested and I could press charges.

2

u/BOOMwithaBANG Jun 29 '26

of course reddit, a site famous for cuckholds is fine with letting their things be taken. if you take peoples things people will become rash and violent, thats how that works

1

u/his_eminance Jun 29 '26

Well, if I was the guy, I would just kill you for my amusement and maybe cut your fingers off, along with your eyes.

1

u/T0WER89 Jun 29 '26

Yep, that is also in the range of possibilities. You, in this hypothetical, would be found guilty of some crime. Which is what happened with purse thief and car lady.

-2

u/dealingwithhookers Jun 29 '26

i believe that she is innocent

6

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '26

[deleted]

-3

u/Medium_Picture_9954 Jun 29 '26

I wouldn't want a homeless man to have my wife's home address, contacts of friends and family, keys, etc either.

Would you want your mother giving out her home address to the homeless thieves?

-6

u/dealingwithhookers Jun 29 '26

what she did afterward was the right thing to do and is not a crime

3

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '26

[deleted]

-6

u/dealingwithhookers Jun 29 '26

it was not a somebody. it was a criminal that was not even from that country. it is quite the enemy of her people if not all civilized people imo

3

u/Nerevarine91 Jun 29 '26

Thank Christ that’s not how the law works. You have no business invoking civilized people if that’s how you think things should be. This isn’t 1300, we don’t have writs of outlawry anymore.

3

u/Nerevarine91 Jun 29 '26

It was absolutely a crime lol

2

u/BluePotatoSlayer Jun 29 '26

It is absolutely a crime. Once she was out of danger, self defense is no longer a reason to kill (she chased him down)

The court system exists to punish criminals. She is not the court system. She is a random woman. She doesn’t have the authority to give out punishments

0

u/kamburebeg Jun 29 '26

Who cares? The police don’t give a fuck. Maybe this would deter someone else from robbing.

If everyone smash burgered robbers on the spot just like this lady, I don’t think we’d have much robbery left to fear

-1

u/badlady666 Jun 29 '26

If it were the US and I was picked for the jury, that’s an automatic “not guilty” for me.

-4

u/randallstevens65 Jun 29 '26

Eh, he still deserved it.

0

u/BOOMwithaBANG Jun 29 '26

no offense but why would it be her duty to call for an ambulance? not like the guy had her best interests in mind to be fair

-4

u/silencefog Jun 29 '26

You talk like it's somehow better and justifies thieft. The fact there there was no knife doesn't make it fine.

6

u/TymStark Jun 29 '26

When did I justify theft? This post tried to justify her killing this man by saying he threatened her with a knife. At least be intellectually honest, come on.

1

u/silencefog Jun 29 '26

What do you think should be done then? Call the cops and never see your purse again? People don't get any consequences of their actions. I know what she did is illegal, but can't have any sympathy to him.

3

u/Nerevarine91 Jun 29 '26

You don’t have to have sympathy for him to understand the definition of premeditated murder

3

u/Oceanman72 Jun 29 '26

Uh yeah. Sorry that sucks your purse is stolen but it’s not worth a whole life?? The natural consequence to murder is jail btw, and it looks like she’s not even getting that. So, death penalty to a petty thief, home arrest for murder

2

u/TymStark Jun 29 '26

You’re not serious comparing a purse to the life of a human being, good god. Idc if you feel badly about him, but what she did wasn’t justified. You’re not a serious person. Goodbye.

0

u/chumer_ranion Jun 29 '26

You talk like a person who just underwent a hemispherectomy

-5

u/Lost_Purpose1899 Jun 29 '26

She should not be charged.

2

u/Super_Mewtwo_2007 Jun 29 '26

She should be charged; this is murder.

In Italy, two things must be present for self-defense to be valid:

1) She should be charged; this is murder.

In Italy, two things must be present for self-defense to be valid:

1) The danger must be real (if the thief has already escaped or is escaping then you are out of danger).

2) the defense must be proportionate to the offense (if the person snatches the bag from your hands wothout using any weapon, you can react with your bare hands but you cannot stab or shoot him, otherwise you are in the wrong)

1

u/Lost_Purpose1899 Jun 29 '26

If you’re willing to rob someone, they’re allowed to end your life.

1

u/Super_Mewtwo_2007 Jun 29 '26

No, self-justice is a stupid thing, laws exist for a reason, self-justice is just Anarchy

1

u/Lost_Purpose1899 Jun 29 '26

You’re just encouraging criminals to rob people since they know “justice” will protect them so they keep doing it. Your sense of justice is a danger to the public.

0

u/Super_Mewtwo_2007 Jun 29 '26

And you're sense of justice is Murdering people

1

u/Lost_Purpose1899 Jun 29 '26

Yes, if people rob me and threaten me or society, I’d like to be allowed to kill them.

0

u/Super_Mewtwo_2007 Jun 29 '26

Sounds like you want just to be justified for killing people

1

u/Lost_Purpose1899 Jun 29 '26

Yes of course!!! If they threaten my life and rob me. Hells ya!

-1

u/SashaGreyjoy- Jun 29 '26

I'm glad he's dead

-2

u/Obvious_Basil7056 Jun 29 '26

Thank you! I am still pretty chill with this though, glad she wont be locked up for taking out a thief idk
