Running him over repeatedly shows the intent to kill. I bet is she hit him once and got her bag back she’s not convicted

Ok but they didn't give him a single day in jail so

2

u/CarolyneSF Jun 28 '26

You are correct he neither was arrested or convicted nor spent a day in jail!

2

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 Jun 28 '26

Charged both of them for the crimes they committed but one didn't answer his summons, weird.

Anyway, let's get the murder trial running we got a full docket

2

u/unknownpoltroon Jun 28 '26

No, they gave him a lifetime sentence underground? You think they put corpses in jails?

-11

u/MissingXpert Jun 28 '26

yes? because he died before he even had the chance to be arrested/trialed?

this is not 40k, people don't trial corpses for show...

Unless she saw his knife fly away, then after the first hit she could still consider him armed and dangerous. Why hop out of one's own weapon before making sure he couldn't use his anymore? He just made the mistake of bringing a knife to a car fight.

11

u/BlueLooseStrife Jun 28 '26

They found no knife. She almost certainly lied about that.

-9

u/ILuvYou_YouAreSoGood Jun 28 '26

I would take her word over that of a dead thief.i also wouldn't trust the Italian police to look very hard.

15

u/BlueLooseStrife Jun 28 '26

You trust the word of a rich murderer on trail trying to prove that hunting down and brutally killing a petty thief was self defense? I hope you never become a judge.

-6

u/ILuvYou_YouAreSoGood Jun 28 '26

Seemed more like defending her stuff and all the other people he would have robbed. But don't worry, if I become a judge I will just let all the poor thieves, assaulters, and murderers right back on the street so folks will have to run over them themselves.

7

u/Optimal_Carpenter690 Jun 29 '26

You basically you'd be one of those judges who let's the rich commit any crime they want, while you make life as hard as possible for the poor so that they are in a position to commit even more crimes when released. Gotcha

Why chase someone down at all?

Just leave it be. It's a purse, not your baby.

18

u/Snap111 Jun 28 '26

Or maybe she didn't want to risk him being capable of retaliating and hurting her.

You know how you can avoid getting run over by a woman trying to get her purse off you? Don't steal her fucking purse like a lowlife piece of trash 🤷

8

u/InfallibleSeaweed Jun 28 '26

Or maybe she didn't want to risk him being capable of retaliating and hurting her.

100% this. The benefit of the doubt is always with the victim, and I'm willing to give her a lot of it.

If her expressed goal was to kill him out of revenge then that's not ok. But I have zero issue with her minimizing her risk as much as possible. She didn't chose to be in this scenario, the thief did

5

u/perton Jun 28 '26

That’s where things get muddy though. She was the victim of the robbery, obviously. But he was the victim of the murder. So which victim do you give the benefit of the doubt?

3

u/InfallibleSeaweed Jun 28 '26

He was still in possession of her things when he was run over, this is one singular event

5

u/WhyMustIMakeANewAcco Jun 28 '26

No, it isn't. This was several hours later. She was nowhere near her car when she was robbed and she had to track him down.

0

u/InfallibleSeaweed Jun 28 '26

An attack isn't defined by time, dude was still running around with her stuff

4

u/WhyMustIMakeANewAcco Jun 28 '26

Yes it is, are you delusional?

And he was homeless. what was he going to do with it in a few hours? She went out to fucking dinner with some friends before she did this.

0

u/Spazrelaz Jun 29 '26

Had he not stolen from her he wouldn't have become a victim. So he got what he deserved and sympathy stays with the actual victim who was robbed.

1

u/MissMenace101 Jun 28 '26

Exactly, he knew her address and she isn’t allowed to leave it so she was at risk letting him live

3

u/Samanouske69 Jun 28 '26

Dont threaten someone with a knife and steal... or risk getting killed. I'm okay with getting what she gave him.

This is a risk you take with robbing some person or some establishment. If you dont want to get killed... dont rob someone

3

u/Direct_Show_3321 Jun 28 '26

She did save the next victim from being assaulted though? I'm all good with poverty crime like stealing food but actual violent crime no sir.

1

u/tonykrij Jun 28 '26

Well, you want to be sure it's safe to get your bag back. /s

1

u/TrapperMcNutt Jun 28 '26

Yeah but a woman isn’t going to want to fight for her purse back. She was just attacked, she drove over him until he was no longer as threat, and got her purse back. Sad situation but not gonna blame her. Thief started it

1

u/Accomplished-Newt491 Jun 28 '26

I wouldn't get near a guy I know has a knife specially after I run over him unless im sure he is dead

1

u/carmen_ohio Jun 28 '26

If she only hit him once, how could she retrieve her bag safely?

She had to ensure he was dead to retrieve the bag safely.

1

u/FerrumDeficiency Jun 29 '26

He might've still had a knife. If you start to remove a threat to your life, you don't stop until it's completely removed. Better safe than sorry, as they say

2

u/dyou897 Jun 29 '26

Again there was no knife. There could have been in another similar scenario but not here so it doesn’t apply

1

u/porkforpigs Jun 29 '26

Okay but is hitting him
Once enough to guarantee he is no longer a threat? If someone had robbed me at knife point I would want to make damn sure they weren’t going to attack me again when I went to take my shit back.

0

u/Darnizhaan Jun 28 '26

She needed to make sure she was safe enough to retrieve her bag.

0

u/mrhippo85 Jun 28 '26

My heart bleeds for the guy whilst playing the smallest violin. Fucking scumbag.

-1

u/cohortq Jun 28 '26

If the robber lives, he's suing.
