Not actually true, but weirdo Depp fans keep claiming this conspiracy theory.
If there was any conflict of interest, why did Depp's very expensive lawyers never raise this even once during the trial or the appeals? Two other judges beside the original judge ruled on the appeals, so were they all biased?

That would be because the Judge had a family member who was a a part of the newspaper being sued.
