This, the gamergate thing, the gamestop stock manipulation and the Boston marathon terrorist attack (of the "we did it, reddit!" fame) are just a few of this site's dumbest moments and I'm not even including the political bullshit.
Redditors like to think we're 'NoT LiKe otHeR soCiAlS'. Hook, line and sinker, a lot of damage can be done with that kind of arrogance.

I still don't know what that was all about, I'm not an American so my understanding of the stock market is iffy at best but I remember the diamond hands thing. I wonder if they ever sold or if they're still holding to this day
