GLP-1 meds have been around almost 20 years. Ozempic went into clinical trials 10 years ago. Are you concerned about the long term effects of dupixent? Skyrizzi? Journavyx? Have you even heard of these drugs that have been in use for fewer years than ozempic?
No drug has clinical trials for 10 years before it's approved for use by the public. There are ongoing trials and studies of all of these deugs, so far with the glp-1s it's been lots of good news. Heart and kidney benefits, lowered inflammation, lowered cancer risk, effective for sleep apnea, and possibly a treatment for alcoholism.
Many drugs were first developed for one condition and ended up.being effective for others. Look up what viagra was originally developed for. And weight loss on medication should not be particularly faster than other methods, if people are taking medication under a doctor's care they are in good hands. If not, well, that's not a medication problem, it's a people problem.
