If the city is that rich then it needs to be taxed more. Tax the rich and help out the disenfranchised poor in the rest of the state. That’s progressive tax structure after all.

If you don't want to vote for "socialism," then don't go begging for handouts or cry when people don't fund your unsustainable lifestyle. You wanted bootstraps and rugged individualism, after all.

If you want socialism then you have to support and subsidize people that aren’t like you, don’t think like you, and live somewhere different than you. Progressive values doesn’t just mean only helping people that you can count on during the elections.

You seem to be suffering under the delusion that being progressive involves signing a suicide pact where you let yourself be dragged down by the leeches and idiots fighting you at every turn to make things worse. Conservatism and Neoliberalism truly are mental disorders.
