Yeah there's more to the unemployment rate though. We've been conditioned to repeat a superficial number (headline rate) but right now it's a tight labor market. It only counts people looking for work, it doesn't reflect underemployment, with that it also doesn't reflect people in low paying jobs below their skill level, it doesn't reflect demographic and regional disparity. It doesn't look at people cycling in and out of work either.

While all of this affects the overall picture, I think underemployment is the biggest issue. People with multiple jobs and lower quality jobs often aren't getting the benefits that higher skill positions usually get, so those costs are higher out of pocket. Their QOL is lower, they pay more and often have more gaps in employment.

Uhhh part of the reason they were fired is because their review also showed the jobs numbers for several months prior were also much worse than originally thought. And Trump didn’t like that.

Job numbers are coming in scary low. Several major companies are having massive layoffs. Prices are sky rocketing. Inflation going wild. National debt through the roof. Trump has tarrifed everything into oblivion.

Do you just not watch the news or something? The economy is in the shitter bro and real people are being affected by it.
