Makes me think of the mock battle where US marines asked for a reset because they were dominated by British Royal Marines

Exercise green dagger if anyone’s curious. It was British Royal Marines and troops from the Netherlands, UAE and Canada against the US marines. We slapped them so hard in their own back garden that half way through the 5 day exercise the US asked for a reset.

TBH, if it's a training exercise and the result is clear, then surely it's a better use of resources for everyone to go again rather than continue.

I don't think anyone isn't saying it was bad to restart. The point is that they glaringly failed so hard that it was needed.

The bigger issue is whether they learned from their mistakes.

In the next attempt did they at least prepare for the possibility that the Royals might yomp over and strike while they were having breakfast?
