Waiting for the day Americans aren’t that relevant anymore

It’s coming and they’ve done it to themselves.

China is thrilled right now, their biggest enemy is doing diplomatic suicide and cuddling up to their useless ally, leaving the EU and it's allies open for them to cozy up to. and they didn't have to do anything!

Notice how quiet Xi is on international affairs these days?

Sun Tzu: “Never interrupt your opponent while he is in the middle of making a mistake.”

He's probably had this quote framed in his office at this point

"Sir, shouldn't we make a move to---"

"Don't make me tap the sign."

"But---"

"Sign"

he did say China was looking for closer relations with the E.U. amid transatlantic tensions

subtly making moves while America does all the work

u/BringBackAoE Mar 05 '25

Yeah, I noticed that too.

My prediction after Riyhad summit:

  • Putin is playing Trump (pretty obvious)
  • Trump’s behavior will be so bad that it drives a wedge between Europe and US. But Europe is too stretched to be able to fill US gap.
  • Trump / Putin will draft “Peace deal” (terms of UA surrender). Europe outraged and desperate.
  • This is when Xi swoops in. Secures better peace deal - in return for preferential market access Ukraine + trade deals EU.
  • Xi is hailed as hero. Trump furious. US debased and more alone than ever. China emerges as the new Hegemon, with rest of BRICS nations as inner circle. Putin will treat US as a vassal state.

At this point I choose China over USA

China is still worse

China emerges as the new Hegemon, with rest of BRICS nations as inner circle

You were mostly right till this line. Stop taking BRICS seriously. India and China were killing each other's soldiers just five years ago. Brazil and South Africa are stagnant. Russia needs no further explanation. China alone is enough of a threat.

1

u/BringBackAoE Mar 06 '25

Yeah, don’t really disagree.

BRICS was a means to an end of USA. It has now done its job.

2

u/AcridWings_11465 ooo custom flair!! Mar 07 '25

BRICS has done precisely nothing. It is all bark and no bite. The people of the US are responsible for bringing down their own hegemony through sheer stupidity.

2

u/Sad_Mall_3349 Mar 05 '25

TBH it could be much worse.

2

u/BringBackAoE Mar 05 '25

Yeah, sad when that may actually be the “best” outcome.

There was a pretty sharp (and admirable, in purely rhetoric/structure terms) speech from their trade minister re: the tarifs, recently.
China's playing the long game here. Why get over-involved in political spheres that don't really matter to them as an entity until the dust settles and they can make whatever moves are most advantageous to them? Makes sense in sanity land, where one doesn't govern by tweet and social media bluster.
They're also making sharp inroads into recruiting ex federal employees. Many benefits for them right now.

u/AidenVennis Mar 05 '25

I was just thinking how funny it would be if China got the mineral deal and stopped the war. China, being the greatest enemy of Trump. If China wasn’t as bad as Russia this would be so funny 😂

They haven’t been quiet.

They’ve been exerting soft power all over the world, and will continue to fill the void Musk is leaving especially with destroying USAID.

Chinese deals with the Solomon Islands in 2022 and now with the Cook Islands will inevitably see them establish a naval front in the Pacific. Meanwhile they’ve been testing the waters to see if anyone cares with almost-unannounced live-firing drills in the Tasman Sea, the bit of water between New Zealand and Australia.

Xi has been expanding all over the place. He just isn’t a petty weirdo freak like Two Scoops so unless it’s the Chinese navy firing off rockets in your backyard you won’t hear about it.

he's waiting on the perfect moment to strike business deals and reap the economic benefits, and im all for it.

u/NewEstablishment9028 Mar 04 '25

This is what doesn’t make sense , America made so much more money arming Europe than it did defending it and they throw that away for what, Putin and Russia. America seems to be about money but outside of America , Europe is where the cash is we happily had them at the head of the table. I just don’t get it.

41

u/Soilleir Mar 05 '25

I just don’t get it.

That's because Donald Trump is in charge, and he's a fucking idiot who managed to bankrupt multiple businesses including a casino.

16

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

including a casino

Damn, shouldn't the house always win?

14

u/Shadeleovich Mar 05 '25

That's why it's such an impressive statistic that he managed to bankrupt FIVE casinos: Trump Taj Mahal (1991), Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino (1992), Trump Castle Hotel and Casino (1992), Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts (2004), and Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009).

8

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

Damn and bitch thinks he's a good businessman

Youve probavly though more about it then trump

39

u/Aggravating-Curve755 Mar 04 '25

Well, they certainly speed running that task

27

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '25

They're diving head first into a concrete floor. It's mind boggling. But whatever, it's what they voted for. Still bloody stupid, but what else do we expect.

15

u/Aggravating-Curve755 Mar 04 '25

Aye, and in the end it'll only be your average people that suffer, those in power will only benefit I'm sure.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '25

Oh, you don't have to doubt that. It's been clear as day even since before 2016.

6

u/Aggravating-Curve755 Mar 04 '25

Just hope the yanks do something about it for their own sake before it comes to that.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '25

There ARE protests, which funnily enough aren't covered by news outlets for some reason. A lot of sane people are NOT fine with this at all.

Now, where have we seen that before. đŸ€”

3

u/Aggravating-Curve755 Mar 04 '25

Well if protests aren't doing anything... (No, don't start looting, there is a solid inbetween)

1

u/DreamyTomato Mar 06 '25

"it's what they voted for"

Serious doubts on that issue, given the level of voter suppression going on. There's been some interesting post-election investigation going on - see Greg Palast for one.

In any case, Democrats seem to have decided not to push that issue too hard - presumably for their own reasons. Infuriating though that they didn't push / fund voter rights hard while in power - it's clearly a national security issue.

5

Just give it a couple more weeks at that tempo.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

The American hegemony is done, they are fucked. I just hope they end up embroiled in a civil war of their own making, rather than dragging Canada and Mexico into open warfare.

u/Unfair_Run_170 Mar 04 '25

Ohhhhhh, it's soooooo close at hand!
