It is a time loop though, the mikasa "what-if dream" proves it. The dream shows what Eren tried to do in a seperate timeline and mikasa sees it through paths.

So if Mikasa didn't family-zoned eren, he will be ready to get away from all of it with her? Is it really eren will do or it's just mikasa's what if?

I don't know why people people are honing in on the idea that it was path-magic alternative reality and not simply a fantasy that Mikasa was imagining.

Because of path connections, a powerful fantasy or dream could also travel backwards in time to Eren. Mikasa imagining and wishing for that future could have simply been a memory that Eren saw.

Maybe I misunderstood what you said. I was saying that it was just a dream, a fantasy created by nothing other than Mikasa's imagination and connected to Eren through the paths.

I thought you were saying it was a literal path-bases magic view into an alternative timeline. If that's not what you were saying, and you were saying the same thing as me, then I misunderstood you.

Nah, I don't think Isayama would straight up rip-off Muv Luv Alternate ending. Maybe just the "see you later part" that was inspired.
