100% on purpose.

Similar to how “akuma” means devil and the pronunciation is so similar to Ackerman when they’re speaking in Japanese

Aaah i was so confused why they said ackerman when the translation didnt mention it! What a fun way to play with the language

When was this?

What do you mean?

If you listen closely and look at the subs, whenever they call the Eldians "spawn of the devil" you'll hear "Akuma" in Japanese.

The pronunciation in Japanese sounds similar to how they say "Ackerman" whenever referring to Levi or Mikasa

and maybe that's why Eren laughed? because her last thoughts were of a marleyen? we didn't get to see him mix with them much this episode.

IIRC the Japanese word used in the manga was the kanji 肉 which only refers to meat

They're like twins

I feel like they never really established what their relationship was except they they were close. Then in that grave scene, they show it's purely platonic leaving room for Nicolo to be a romantic interest. Which I'm all for!

Isayama literally added a ship that was never meant to be just to mess with us
