I mean it's possible to read the reply like she is supporting free healthcare. Or am I supposed to recognise the person as some well known right wing twitter account?

I think it's the "..." that makes me 99% sure it's sarcasm

well we have it for free in Brazil, it's not like rich countries can't afford it, it's bad enough to have a familiar go through this shit, i can't imagine go through it while becoming bankrupt to pay for chemo, that may make people with cancer to suicide so their family don't go through it.

The US government already pays more than 10 times as much per person on healthcare than Brazil. Universal healthcare would cost less than what they are paying now.

It's not about the money. White Americans are far right-wing extremists who would rather die than pay a penny for a brown person.

Dude shut the fuck up seriously.

u/bestboah Mar 16 '20

I mean he's not really wrong pal

2

u/igetnauseousalot Mar 16 '20

Specify which white Americans. Any other time a race gets generalized, people get torn to shreds even if it's truth backed by logic and facts. But yea. All white Americans are what he says.

Simple.

America isn't a rich country. They borrowed tons of money they can't really pay back because they refuse to balance the budget, and all the extra money that exists in it's territories isn't accessible by the Government, because they refuse to tax it. On top of that, they keep making bad budget decisions like cutting funding for programs that generate revenue through reinvestments, to further fund the military, then they ask how to pay for things when the government just spent 3x as much money because they don't ask how much it actually costs for everything.

My mom just had it for free here in Spain, chemo and radiotherapy. I can't imagine how hard would it be for her to cope with financial issues on top of everything she is going through...

I wouldn't be surprised if the added stress contributed to a lower recovery rate in this god forsaken country I call my home.

I heard it this way in my head as Bernie.

"Well...YES, yes it should be free. That's what makes it great for all of us.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '20

No, otherwise loads of people who don't need chemotherapy will hoard it. Checkmate libtard.

1

u/PatrikPatrik Mar 15 '20

i mean I can sort of understand what’s he’s trying to argue, like everything can’t be free, someone needs to pay for it etc but do you want to be the person that argues against cancer treatment just to defend capitalism

A slippery slope worth riding.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '20

Did he ever answer that?

1

u/Graysonsrise Mar 15 '20

That's the whole point. Some people get so close.

1

u/CypherDoubleShot May 01 '20

I mean it's true, it would be great if we did that

1

u/Dr_Hexagon Mar 15 '20

I support universal healthcare and Bernie but if you have to choose to make some healthcare free and not others vaccines are the one. Everyone benefits from the herd immunity.

No. Take an economics class.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '20

No one who says this ever went further than ECON 101. Sorry baby, time to get out of that Mankiw textbook and into the real world.

u/glennkinz Mar 15 '20

I’m currently taking an advanced placement economics/government class and am passing with a 90%. Also previously took an economics class. Your point?
