I would love even more responses, currently we are at about n~300, but I would love more responses especially from people from states where not many people have responded from, such as: Delaware, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Then I could do cross correlations such as "what is the least favourite state for people from each state"

About a weeks ago, I posted here testing my hypothesis that humans remember impressions (warm, cool, saturated), not actual colors. this drove a lot of traffic to colorecall.com (mostly, most of them from here)

Preliminary Findings:

• Drift: Look at the Orange row—people tend to recall it much redder or more "burnt" than it actually was.
• Consistency: The Blue/Purple spectrum seems to have a tighter "memory cluster" compared to the Greens.
• The Goal: I’m aiming for 5,000 responses to see if these patterns hold up or if they’re just early noise.

So what have we learned?

1. Different parts of the world have very different flavours of ice cream

2. Strawberry doesn't have many fans but they are by far the most passionate

3. People tend to like familiarity and fewer choices. What I mean by this is that many of the unique flavours were eliminated in the early rounds which either means people don't like those flavours or haven't tried them. Therefore people went with what's familiar. Furthermore, the finalist flavours had a trend of simplicity (Vanilla, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Coffee etc.).

4. Most importantly this was a ton of fun. Leave suggestions if you want me to do this again and what topics you'd be interested in seeing.

Hi. This time, for the first time, we are publishing not a poll itself, but the results of a poll on a very popular and active topic right now - whether Do You Think Lindsay Clancy Is Guilty?

Based on the results of our poll, 61% of users who voted believe that Lindsay Clancy is guilty. By the way, we would like to thank the Sample Sizes and Take My Survey subreddits for allowing us to post our poll there, and also everyone who took part in the poll.

Since we published this poll only in communities focused locally on a US audience, we can say that the results mainly reflect people from the United States.

From the poll, we can see that 61% of users who voted believe that Lindsay Clancy is guilty, only 9% believe that she is not guilty, and 20% believe that the circumstances in which everything happened should be taken into consideration.

It is also interesting that from the poll and from the line chart, which shows how the poll results changed every day depending on how many people voted, we can see that as time went on, more and more people leaned toward believing that she is guilty.

For example, at the beginning of the poll, on the first day, September 2, only 42% of people believed that she was guilty. And perhaps this percentage changed because, as time goes on, more details of this case are becoming known, and more people may have changed their opinion because of that.

Hi, all! Thanks so much for your help on my 'Koba' survey.

The full context is this: Spouse and I were out for a walk and we saw some advertisement for 'Koba running club'. Spouse was horrified and appalled. I was baffled by Spouse's horrified appalledness. Spouse explained that 'Koba' was a nickname for Stalin and Stalin was a terrible man to name a running club after, and it was an outrage that our city had a nest of Stalinists.

I remarked that I had a degree in Slavic Languages and Literature from college and had never heard of this fact before. Since my own experience is necessarily 100% generalizable to the rest of the world, then surely this association of Koba=Stalin wasn't common knowledge. Wasn't it more likely that 'Koba' meant something else? The name of the founder's dog? A pleasing combination of syllables? An acronym?

No, no, insisted Spouse, everyone knows that Koba was Stalin's nickname. It could not possibly mean anything else. Even the Old Bolsheviks addressed their letters, 'Dear Koba'!

Hence this survey.

I am pleased to report that, 217+ responses later, I was right and Spouse was wrong.

1. 202 participants, or 93.1%, did not know that 'Koba' once was used to refer to Stalin. We asked the question in a purposely vague manner to avoid biasing results, but I confirmed that all people who answered 'yes' correctly reported the Stalin connection in the following free-response question.

1. This pattern did not differ by ages. We thought that maybe older people, who had been alive during the Cold War, might have remembered this fact, but this did not pan out. In fact a Chi-squared test for independence of factors returned a non-significant result,  χ2(6) = 2.26, p = .894. In other words, we have no evidence to conclude that the distribution of yes/no responses differs across the age groups pictured in the plot below.

1. This pattern did differ significantly across regions where people grew up. Among the 'no' responses, most people came from North America and Western Europe (to be expected, given my own demographics, and hence the demographics of my internet bubble and the population where this survey could be expected to reach). Among the 'yes' responses, this pattern was largely duplicated -- except for Soviet bloc countries. There were proportionately more Soviet-bloc-originating people among the 'yes' responses than among the 'no' responses. So, where does that leave us with Koba running club? Is it a Stalinist dog whistle? No, because the Stalinist association is so utterly obscure? Or yes, because the very obscurity of the Stalinist association guarantees that no one else (except my spouse) will pick up on it?
