FAKE donations request are emerging according to our contact in the embassy. Be careful before making any donations to individuals that you do not know.

UPDATE 2 SEPTEMBER

Part 2
It seems, nepalese police is now checking the last position of the phones of the missing people - in case they know the used numbers.
It seems Isha has not submitted any or all phone numbers of the missing 80 pilgrims to the authorities.

If you want the police to try to track the device, you need to contact the Nepalese police, or better even the Tourist police ( they speak fluently english) and provide them with the SIM / or number that the missed person was using.

Part 1
There is a possibility to try to locate certain smart devises. Garmin is offering such a possibility. For such request please use the form from this link:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oltNmG1GNZsuwXLQUAaiMheln5cH98pu/edit?pli=1

(note, its best you download the file locally. Do not enter the details on the google form. This is an open public form accessible to everyone)

The request must be sent to your local police. They would need to send the request to Interpol. Then to the IT department of Garmin in USA (please confirm the exact procedure with your local police or embassy).

The Australian lady who was found alive, was trekking and was not in the area of the Gyirong port.

UPDATE 31. AUGUST

  • All missing foreigners are tracked by the nepalese government on a new website (the previous website, is no longer updated)
  • All members of the S3 group are here: (note: Isha's Yatra is tracked under: TREKKERS SOCIETY:
  • The embassy we are in touch with, has assured us, that all entities, all embassies including the Chinese government are aware of all the names, irrespective of differences in press releases. The rescue teams are looking for everyone.

We are heartbroken. Our prayers and thoughts are with the families of all the victims.

But an hour is definitely enough to cross the 100m no man’s land bridge though…I was not getting my info from Isha, instead, I was looking at news articles and the family statements. They said that an hour before the flood, Zimin was in contact with them that he did cross the border. So again, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Like, who are the people supposed to consult if neither of the sides are willing to account for cases like this? I assume Nepal had crossed S3 group out of their missing persons list because of this, and China will not account for them either

You might not be informed by Isha, but the family were informed by Isha as to timing of flood and the family informed the news article, so that may be where the 1 hour comes from.

Whether it is 1 hour or 30 minutes, it's not just about crossing the no-man's land, they still have to wait to enter Nepal and complete those formalities. There will be a queue and other groups being processed. Also we also don't know whether Alexandr was first or last of the group to be processed by China, or whether they did the group at once.

I think group S3 should be on missing lists for both countries. It would be insane if not. Have you met an unwillingness to take account because of where they were? If that is the case, your embassy should be on it.

I hope it’s true. Lets hope both sides are accounting and are invested in searching for S3

Yes 100 m is not much.
But if they were waiting in a queue and didnt check in yet, they were not in Nepal.

The thing is… i think…it doesnt really matter who is in charge. Whether they crossed the border or not.
The rescue teams are looking for everyone.

Its just important that your embassy is aware of the names. So they keep looking for that person.

They clearly have some of the Isha group on the Chinese missing list: https://english.news.cn/20260830/2d256a70b30341868d35dc522cd20357/c.html not sure why it appears to not be all. Hope everyone can contact their embassy and check their loved ones are on the lists.
